In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

The Call of the Gutsy

Granny Jan has the goods on the supposed non-politicization by the White House of the Bin Laden kill. As this video makes abundantly clear, the national security staff was co-opted into political work. They and other Democrats were given talking points, and marching orders.

Politicizing national security and this moment of national triumph and healing. Gutsy call, David Plouffe!

Here’s the evidence:

  1. Thanks, Keith. My two favorite clips were from Joseph H. Boyett, Ph.D., author of Won’t Get Fooled Again: A Voter’s Guide to Seeing Through the Lies, Getting Past the Propaganda, and Choosing the Best Leaders.

and from Dan Kennedy, assistant professor at Northeastern University’s School of Journalism, specializing in new-media trends.

You can’t make these things up.

  2. Another hit, GJ.
This isn’t the first time ‘talking points’ eminated from the WH’s political machine. What’s surprising is that so many would parrot the phrases or exact words in such a bold manner. These commenters are not without a command of the English language and there are other words that could have been substituted for “gutsy” for the same effect.

    1. It’s as if they’ve never heard of Google.
However, they don’t really have to worry about being outed because
the media will never hold them accountable.

I’m sure they are told to use those exact words. Think of it
as branding as in advertising. Those words have to sink
into the public’s consciousness in an almost subliminal way.

Rush often does a talking points montage, my favorite segment.

      1. It’s hard for an old-timer to imagine that the POTUS has a brand, like a line of potato chips.
It’s a new day for all of us.

      1. You mean a clip that I used, not MY clip, I assume.
I always Google to check on the video… where it’s being posted and it’s actually a compliment when you find that your video was swiped. They changed the title slightly which I liked so I swiped their title :)

          1. I saw the link on his show page and I thanked him on my video. I haven’t heard the show yet because I might die from excitement. Thanks again.

If he knew who I really was it would be funny and unexpected. I could be his aunt or something and my husband is from Philly just like Mark.

          2. Thanks! I just heard it. They edited the music beautifully. I wish I had done that. It was Johnnie Comes Marching Home Again from the movie Diehard 3. The best version of it I’ve ever heard.

  3. Remember back in 2000 when the media went nuts about how Dick Cheney brought much needed “gravitas” to GWB’s campaign since he had none? “Gutsy call” is this year’s that!
