As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama Morning News || May 6, 2011

President Obama visited Ground Zero Thursday, hoping to bring some closure to the 9/11 victims.

The White House has provided a lot of information about the raid, but some details remain hidden. Fox News reports on how the White House botched the its presentation of the events.

Obama will meet today with the special ops team that took out Bin Laden. For all the excitement about the Bin Laden raid, the Obama foreign policy is still the Obama foreign policy, writes POLTICO.

Republican presidential contenders lobbed barbs at President Obama during the first debate of the campaign. Ron Paul performed best against Obama in a new poll.

Biden and the Republicans started talking debt reduction.

Obama’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner video has shattered a YouTube record.

And the president warned Hispanics at yesterday’s Cinco de Mayo celebration: Don’t get between Michelle and a tamale.

  1. Most people are unaware, but Cinco de Mayo is not a big celebration in Mexico. If you are ever in Mexico, the only people you will see celebrating Cinco de Mayo are American tourists.

  2. Watched the Republican debate last night and was impressed with Herman Cain. What a breath of fresh air to listen to a candidate answer a question without the spin. These shocking poll results, especially from CNN, should be taken with a grain of salt. Ron Paul has some great fiscal ideas, but he leans way too far to the right for this conservative’s tastes.

  3. What husband can make his wife the butt of his jokes in public and not pay a private price later? His crack about MrsO “snatching candy” from the children at the WHEggRoll and now this tamale remark are not funny, but abusive.
I don’t like her agenda, think she is a fraud, and a poor example for the position she holds, but she is a person who should at least garner respect from her husband.
    Obama is a mean man.

  4. Malkin can really bring it when she feels like it. I know it’s not amusing, but I was grimy bemused, shall we say, when I heard a report that the local children had “chopped” up the rest of the top-secret helo and sold the scraps as souvenirs, which might help in the “China will reverse engineer” meme. I thought all our dopey shows went overseas–what, no CSI in Pakistan? I didn’t see any yellow tape in those pix. Also, what happened to the other people in the house–will they be interrogated? Handed over? It all seems pretty casual to me.

  5. I read that all cameras and videos were barred except the O’s private ones. Another dose of transparency…why does the MSM let him get by with this?

    • That video really creeps me out. He uses propaganda as skillfully as another tyrant from the past. Can’t understand how some in the WH press corps are just standing on the sidelines, happy for the few scraps he throws them, and saying nothing about these Riefenstahl productions.

  6. Here’s what our whacky and tacky President’s said to a 10 year old boy at Ground Zero yesterday. I think this exchange has been deleted from the NY Daily news website or at least I couldn’t find it.

“Christopher was one of the kids left fatherless by 9/11 who stopped Obama in his tracks after the Ground Zero ceremony.

The boy gave Obama a prayer card with his dad’s picture and the President put it in his pocket.

“He said, ‘Thank you, it was truly an honor to receive this from you,'” Christopher said. “It made me feel great; it meant the world to me that he was talking to me.”

The 6-foot-1 leader of the free world stared the pint-size kid in the eyes and solicited his opinion about a subject that has captured the attention of the world.

“He asked how I felt about Osama Bin Laden being dead,” the boy said.

“I said he could have done something a little less harsh to him, but it was nice to just know that after what happened to my dad, this guy was killed, too.”
