In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Quote of the Day

“Okay George, listen. I’ll give you partial credit for the Bin Laden takedown if you let me blame you for the economy for another year.”

– Barack Obama

  1. Yes, very good Keith !
I am so glad that Bush turns down Obamas invite to join him at Ground Zero on Thursday. But I am not surprised. I really respect and appreciate this man. He doesn´t want the media glare that Obama so obviously is pining for. Looks like Obama wants legitimacy in connecting with Bush.
My son is travelling to New York today and I told him to keep a critical eye on the Obamashow at Ground Zero. Will he say anything about the planned Mosque ? By the way, my two children were born during my years in the US so they are both devoted American citizens . They still live here. Just students.

      1. Excellent work Granny Jan! Just goes to show how a picture is worth a thousand words. Really stirs the emotions to think he’s never visited Ground Zero until it became politically expedient.

I’m glad GWB turned down the invite. He saw it for what it is…a shameless political ploy.

  2. I’m glad he declined, Bush has class and considering what Obama does to people when he invites them or makes sure they are there…. Paul Ryan, Trump, the Supreme Court Justices… it’s amazing what you can do when you are the mouth behind the mike and don’t have to share…..
