In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Beyonce Sexes Up Michelle’s “Let’s Move” Campaign

Here’s Beyonce’s “Move Your Body” video, made for Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” anti-obesity campaign.

I liked the tune. I liked . . . Beyonce. But the video is terrible – way to busy busy with the fast cuts and all these kids jumping around in white shirts. Is it such a great idea make a video to get kids to exercise while giving them ADHD?

And what’s with the little fat kid? I mean, come on.

H/T to Chicks on the Right, where I first saw this.

  1. Michelle Obama plugged this video to the kiddies at the White House yesterday at the take your child to work event. I guess since she was showing off her thigh-high, greased legs it mattered little to her the Beyonce is wearing hotpants. The photo is from a pro-Michelle blog:

Here’s her brilliant comments about the video. She said that you don’t have to have a lot of money to move. Just put on a song and dance. Wow, who knew?

    1. MT for re-redistribution

“…you don’t have to have a lot of money to move.” Nice comment since her hubby is encouraging financial wreckage. :-)

    2. I call them “crotch shorts.”

Nice to see Michelle Antoinette grinding her groove in that vid that was shot at some school. Not. Jes has to be sexy in public — she and that Beyonce. I’m sure Beyonce flattered MoochMO by telling her how down and cool and sexy she was — and MO believed it!

  2. That was awful. However, I do have to give her credit for being able to jump around like that while wearing spike heels because that cannot have been easy.

    1. It’s a pretty minor accomplishment in the scheme of the world.

If you want to see dancing in heels, look at Ginger Rogers — that was dancing, in heels, and backwards!

What Bey does is called grinding while hopping.

  3. This video is oreinted towards black children. Beyonce should know better but her job is to sell herself. Michelle doesn’t really care about black children except as props in her campaign. Do they really need a sexed-up video in a culture that already has an high teen pregnancy rate and a 70% single parent rate. I think those issues are hurting blacks more than obesity, but MO is silent on those issues for obvious reasons.

    1. I have to disagree with you, Granny. Michelle Antoinette LOVE AfAm children because someday they will vote for her for the Senate and later on for President.

  4. Fighting childhood obesity by encouraging school children to dance in the cafeteria instead of eating the new oh-so-tasteless lunches is, well..stupid and crass.
No child ever got fat eating the lunch served in a school cafeteria, but more than a few young girls got in trouble wearing short-shorts and a blouse falling off of her shoulders.

  5. A boob-bouncing woman in crotch pants promotes the idea of physical health. Yeah, an image good for schoolgilrs, good for schoolboys.

Now we see why Michelle Antoinette so desperately parades her “sexiness.” Apparently, it’s the required thing among “her people.”

  6. There are a lot of things that bother me about this video. My daughter (10) would watch and ask why the lady is wearing such short shorts, why her shirt is falling off, why are the people dancing that way? (I guess you can see we are a bit conservative). My daughter has learned that the purpose a lot of dancing and dress these days is to attract the opposite sex. Plus the sight of all those kids (with professional dancers in there) moving back and forth like automatons does nothing to make exercising more attractive.

  7. Beyonce performed in Libya for Momar Kadaffi’s son Uday this past New Years Eve. Despite the fact that he is a known woman abuser, This greedy performer did the show anyway. For MO to use any music/video made by Beyonce sends a really bad message to the youth of America.
