In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. I’m so glad he could squeeze 2 hours in to see the major disaster here in the US that has taken over 200 lives and displaced thousands. I guess that just doesn’t trump a golden campaign opportunity and providing his family with a shuttle launch at taxpayers expense. It’s all about priorities.

  2. You could of narrowed all this down…
1)Interfere with rush hour traffic in D.C. on the way out the door,
2)Show up in Alabama and block the roads with his motorcade that should be open for 1st responders, and then make a half heated speech in front of a whole lot of people that should be looking for survivors.
3)Show up and steal Gabby Giffords moment.
4)Arrive right in time to completely jack a already terrible highway system in Miami during Friday rush hour, turning 2 hour commutes into 4,Then screwing the nightlife traffic/crowd again on the way out.
He is safer on the campaign trail begging for money

  3. Again: I have friends and family in the affected areas. I want Pres. Obama to stay away. The security required for his presence will hinder search and rescue operations. I have a brother I can’t get in touch with and if there’s trouble I want EMS to focus on him; not stand down for the chief executive.

    1. Prayers to all who were affected by the storms. The devastation our fellow Americans have suffered over the past few days is unimaginable.

  4. I don’t think I get bear to watch him smirk his way through whatever comments he’ll manage to choke out in Alabama. After all, he said nothing about the 45 people who died in North Carolina last week. He was in a hurry to play golf, I guess. And showing up at the Kennedy Space Center…anything to get in front of the cameras. And he’ll milk the unfortunate Gabby Giffords for all it’s worth. Speaking of Ms. Giffords, am I alone in thinking the LSM is milking her for all it’s worth? Nary a word about the people who died next to her.
