President Obama will benefit from finally releasing his birth certificate, but he’s done it in the usual Obama style that portends ill for his reelection.
His statement this morning was a showcase for the kind of unmitigated disingenuousness we are due for during the upcoming campaign. People will see through it.
The reason the White House released the long form birth certificate, as I mention below, is that polls are showing the issue is becoming a problem for him, with Donald Trumps ravings resulting in nearly half of America thinking either Obama was born in Kenya or just not sure where he was born.
But Obama said he released it because he has not time for silliness.
AND THEN HE FLEW OFF THE TAPE THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW. Afterwards, he flew to New York City for THREE fundraisers, a year and half before Election Day. Here’s what he said this morning . . .
And so I just want to make a larger point here. We’ve got some enormous challenges out there. There are a lot of folks out there who are still looking for work. Everybody is still suffering under high gas prices. We’re going to have to make a series of very difficult decisions about how we invest in our future but also get a hold of our deficit and our debt — how do we do that in a balanced way . . . .
But we’re not going to be able to do it if we are distracted. We’re not going to be able to do it if we spend time vilifying each other. We’re not going to be able to do it if we just make stuff up and pretend that facts are not facts. We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers.
His whole day today is a distraction. And this after spending three days out West last week basically campaigning. And golfing last weekend for the fourth time in four weeks.
He said he finally decided to release the long form certificate after his wrangling with Republicans over $3 billion in the 2011 budget was pushed out of the news by the birther issue. Really?? I paid pretty close attention, and I remember plenty of coverage of this largely trivial and symbolic struggle.
It’s arguable that the president should be reelected for his heroic ability to keep a straight face other times while saying the kinds of things he said this morning. Sometimes I think he believes himself when he says these things, in which case he needs to be put on anti-psychotics.
Obama helped launch the birther movement by failing for three years to just release his long form birth certificate. He got it out because it was no longer convenient to hold it back. It’s disconcerting he pretends otherwise.

His whole life he’s been thumbing his nose at middle-class America and no one has ever held him accountable. They loved the birther issue because the subtext was that birthers were racist. Actually, he probably believes that anyone who criticises him is racist.
Race still holds the utmost importance in his life. On Easter, of all the black churches in DC, he chose a church that was Jeremiah Wright light.

Great video Granny Jan. It really got my dander up. When he isn’t lying to us or laughing at us, he is trying to scold us for our “silliness”. He had what my mother used to call a “shit eating grin” on his face during the Oprah interview this morning. Makes me wonder if this was all a grand plan. Thanks. That grin is so peculiar. If you look at photos of him with other people his grin is bigger and wider than any others. Sometimes he’s the only one smiling. He’s been hiding who he is for so long that he can’t even fake a normal smile. He over does it.

When George W. was at the helm, he was hounded by the press for spending too much time on his mountain bike, sacking out at 9:30-10:00pm so he could get up at 5:30am and workout in the gym before the office. And (gasp) sometimes during the day, too. The horror.
The elite scribes at The New Yorker wrote deep pieces about what this all meant. Was he avoiding his responsibility as CinC? Was he in denial? To the point where he decided to give up playing golf because of the message it sent out during a war, you know, IED’s, suicide bombs and distances to the green? Kind of a tough mix. No?
But that ain’t gonna’ bother Obama from giving the caddies practice at looking down at their shoes and biting down hard on the lip when he tees it up.
And on top of all this, he swings a 7 iron like he threw out the first pitch at that Nationals opening day, a freakin’ national embarrassment.
If W was playing golf every weekend and doing sic fundraisers in a week a year and a half before the election they would be devoting hour long shows to it on CNN.
Somebody can’t handle the truth. Keith’s articles are honest…sometimes brutally honest. He doesn’t beat around the bushes like so many other beltway reporters do. Time to wake up my friend. It doesn’t matter what side of the aisle you are on, he is trying to take America to a place I guarantee you don’t want to be.
Susan – calling my articles brutally honest is just the highest compliment. You can’t imagine – or probably you can – there are just unwritten codes here in Washington among journalists about not saying the obvious if it’s impolite or particularly harsh sounding, not overdoing it against Democrats, and so forth. That’s exactly what I’m trying to address.
A fellow journalist whom I like said the other day that Michelle is fit. I responded, no, she’s overweight, and technically possibly obese. I heard some chuckling among other reporters, who were scoffing at my breaking the unwritten code. You can’t say Michelle is fat. Everyone just nods their heads and says, “yes, Michelle has a trainer, she’s fit.” And I don’t really care, except that she’s chosen to lead an anti-obesity campaign.

Speaking of, my kid loves basketball and she was outraged this AM–“Mom! Michelle Obama came on during the game saying basketball is good exercise… You jump, you even dance or something. Stay off my channels!”

Truth! You said it! He enjoys vacations at the White House and the lifestyle of Hollywood harlots while Americans are literally struggling to make it day-to-day financially.
Obama is a postmodernist, believing that everything that comes out of his mouth is the truth. He will falsify any information and make up stories, fabricating lies. He makes sport of his own deceitfulness while feasting with you, speaking great swelling words of vanity, and he’s a servant of corruption. I pray that he will be caught in his own craftiness!
