Obama Offers his Religious Bona Fides at Prayer Breakfast

Thought you might want to take a look at this video of President Obama presiding over this morning’s Easter Prayer Breakfast at the White House.

It’s interesting and rare to see Obama in a religious setting, avowing his Christianity in no uncertain terms. And this of course is the point.

Obama’s religiosity is regularly called into question – he almost never attends church – and a substantial number of Americans, though not a majority, think he is a Muslim.

What’s more, Americans of all religions like to think of their president as believing in something greater than himself.

And thus, the Easter Prayer Breakfast, established by Obama last year and declared by him today as henceforth an annual event.

I’m the naive type, and I think Obama is a Christian and wants to do this breakfast beyond reasons connected to politics. But, one might ask, where is his religious mentor, the egregious, maniacal, America-hating Jeremiah Wright? Not at the White House, that’s for sure.

OK, maybe 80 percent politics, 20 percent religion going on here. But what do I know?

On a side note, does the president not seem a little hung over from last night’s Seder and it’s legendary four cups or wine? Or maybe he’s just not a morning person. Compared to Bush, many of his events are in the afternoon, and he starts his day later.

  1. We know he was a Musim, then attended a Christian church whose pastor promoted hatred of White America or maybe all of America. He spoke at a WhiteHouse dinner last night equating Passover with the current Muslim uprisings in the MiddleEast. Today, he makes the Easter celebration a promo for the EasterEggRoll at the WhiteHouse.
We know he can’t just go to any house of worship without a big disruption of the congregation’s attendance, but the concern for the public doesn’t appear for any excursion the Obama’s take for their own amusement. Date nights, shopping trips, ice cream runs, or just sight-seeing is done without any consideration for anyone else’s leisure activities.
We’re really not concerned with how he plans to save his own soul. We’re concerned with how he plans on saving America.

  2. As a non-morning person myself, it’s often been mentioned to me that I’m stumbling and surly before that second cup of coffee, so I’ll assume he’s not hung over. Plus, as much as the Obamas like to party, I’m sure he’s had more than four glasses of wine on more than one occasion.

That said, my personal belief is that Pres. Obama is, at heart, an athiest who uses religion to further his ambition. Which is why the “cling to religion” comment came so easily to him. And why, when asked why he converted to Christianity, he said he chose it not for the message of salvation from sin and hell but for it’s message of “I am my brother’s keeper” (a phrase which, incidentally, appears nowhere in the Bible).

    1. If it’s that Christian idea that you have to pay for everyone–can’t remember what Beck said it was called–then it’s to be his brother’s boss, not out of caring.

    2. William, he got that phrase from Genesis 4:9, when God asked Cain where his brother Abel was – Cain replied “am I my brother’s keeper?”

Obama used the phrase incorrectly as if Jesus had used it – to promote the idea that we’re our brothers’ keepers.

Obama has no familiarity with the Bible. He sat there in that hate-filled anti-Christ “church” and soaked up all kinds of vitriol and race-hatred, but I’d bet he never opened a Bible and actually read anything in it.

          1. I didn’t think it would be necessary. If I wrote that a friend who once supported Pres. Obama has had the scales fall from his eyes would it be necessary for me to specify that I’m alluding to Paul’s conversion?

  3. I remember when a minister at a George Bush event used the word Jesus during a prayer and caught flack from the media.

Obama can go on about the ressurection and the media won’t make a peep. Maybe they know it’s all for show.

  4. Obama may try to tout himself as a “Christian,” but what he listened to
at “Rev” Wright’s “church” was Black Liberation Theology. BLT has Marxist leanings.

    Enough said.

  5. Obama is NOT a Christian. Say I’m being “judgmental” – too bad. We are called to be discerning – and I will not say “well, we don’t know what is in his heart” … we can surely know by looking at his deliberate actions!

Glenn Beck broadcast 4 or 5 videos & audio tapes of Obama saying specifically that “my individual salvation is dependent on collective salvation”, i.e., that of the black community – that is shocking – and pure heresy. Jesus NEVER preached “collective salvation” – that is liberation theology. And wrong! Of course that’s what spewed from the mouth of mega-wealthy Jeremiah Wright (last I checked, btw, Wright lives in a luxurious home, with a $10 mil equity line mortgage in favor of ShoreBank – now that’s a whole can of worms involving Jarrett & other Chicago pol/ops). Obama joined that church for purely political reasons. He stayed there for 20 yrs. How can any Christian really think that Obama believes in the Jesus Christ of the New Testament?

How much do you want to bet Obama’s going to be going to church now? Some Christians who keep complaining that he doesn’t go to church will now have to backtrack. I don’t care if goes every Sunday from this Easter Sunday thru Nov ’12, that won’t make him a Christian anymore than sitting in a garage makes you into a car.

Who was at this “prayer” breakfast – TD Jakes – who should be ashamed of himself – sitted at the left hand of the Pres.
    Plus pro-abortion, pro-Obamacare Leftists:

Who wrote his little homily? Certainly not him – I’d guess it was Jim Wallis.

  6. we don’t know what religion Obama really is because we can’t know what’s in his heart. what I care about is how he acts, not what his view of salvation is. and unfortunately, how he acts has me really disturbed.

only Obama would find a way to equate Passover with the Arab uprisings in the Middle East. how my fellow American Jews can vote for this guy is a mystery to me.

Can you guess which Bible verses Barack Hussein Obama likes to avoid?
Proverbs 19:10 (NIV): “It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury – how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!”
Also Proverbs 30:22 (NIV) which says that the earth cannot bear up under “a servant who becomes king.”
And Ecclesiastes 5:2-3 (KJV) advises: “let thy words be few…a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.”
Although Obama is not descended from slaves, he may feel that he’s destined to become a black-slavery avenger.
Or maybe an enslaver of all free citizens!
For some stunning info on Pres. Obama and his fellow subversives, Google “Michelle Obama’s Allah-day,” “Obama Supports Public Depravity,” “David Letterman’s Hate Etc.,” “Un-Americans Fight Franklin Graham” and also “Sandra Bernhard, Larry David, Kathy Griffin, Bill Maher, Joan Rivers, Sarah Silverman.” Also Google “Prof. F. N. Lee’s ISLAM IN THE BIBLE [PDF].”
PS – Since Christians are commanded to ask God to send severe judgment on persons who commit and support the worst forms of evil (see I Cor. 5 and note “taken away”), Christians everywhere should constantly pray that the Lord will soon “take away” or at least overthrow all US leaders who continue to sear their conscience and arrogantly trample the God-given rights of the majority including the rights of the unborn. Do we need a second American Revolution?
PPS – For a rare look at the 181-year-old endtime belief which has long neutralized millions of American patriots by promising them an “imminent rapture” off earth – which has diverted them away from being prepared to stand against all enemies, domestic as well as foreign – Google “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty,” “Pretrib Rapture Diehards,” “Edward Irving is Unnerving,” “Pretrib Rapture Secrecy,” and “Pretrib Rapture – Hidden Facts” – all by the author of the bestselling nonfiction book “The Rapture Plot” (the most accurate documentation on the pretrib rapture’s long hidden birth in Britain in 1830 – see Armageddon Books). Also Google “Stamping Out Harold Camping.”
