Obama Issues Statement on Mideast Violence

Killed three very different birds with one stone. No mention of Bahrain’s particular brutality. Of course, they are harboring our fleet, and the rest of the area’s feudal monarch’s already put out a statement supporting Bahrain’s response, so I guess we’re loath to get too critical.

Boy, the crap we have to put up with to get oil and have places to put our gunboats.

Here’s the statement.

I am deeply concerned by reports of violence in Bahrain, Libya and Yemen. The United States condemns the use of violence by governments against peaceful protesters in those countries and wherever else it may occur. We express our condolences to the family and friends of those who have been killed during the demonstrations. Wherever they are, people have certain universal rights including the right to peaceful assembly. The United States urges the governments of Bahrain, Libya and Yemen to show restraint in responding to peaceful protests, and to respect the rights of their people.

      • If you depose the monarchy, *who* will take their place? The monarchy are Sunni’s, the people are Shia’, which are allied with Iran. The same connections are similar to Libya, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia. Once you depose the ruling powers, you will have competing Muslim Brotherhood satellites all in cahoots for power, funded and supported by Iran.

The key is Iran. To maintain stability in the Middle East, the key is to destabilize Iran’s influence on other countries.

There still is time for Israel, the U.S. or NATO to arklight Tehran, kill the Mullah’s, A’job, destroy the nuke sites and smolder Republican Guard marshalling concentrations near the border, outside the cities and in their armored laagers as well as a quick, combined bombing campaign of known terrorist training camps in the NE part of the country. The complete loss of command and control would spell defeat for Iran’s burgeoning, global terrorist exports, destroy Iran’s ability to influence Iraq (especially the militia’s), foment discontent and push Iran back another 20 years, giving the free world time to determine what to do next.

Then again a pig will fly out of my ass.
