Vice President Biden will travel to Orlando, Fla. Monday to raise money for the Congressman from Disney World, Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson.
Biden’s appearance puts him in league with the House’s most vitriolic critic of the GOP. It’s a little difficult to square President Obama’s persistent claims that he wanted bipartisanship with the decision let Biden to jump into bed with a man who’s made the following statements:
The Republican health care plan is this: Don’t get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly.
He then defended the comment.
I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven’t voted sooner to end this holocaust in America.
He soon afterward called Republicans:
Foot-dragging, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals.
Of the Tea Partiers, he said:
These are people who were wearing sheets over their heads 25 years ago.
Wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder demanding that the federal government imprison Republican activist Angie Langley for five years because of her website criticizing him.
There must be dozens of other ways Biden could go about helping House Democrats that wouldn’t have involved taking the vice president’s office and dropping it into this particular sewer.
It’s very hard to think that the tears being shed by Obama over the death of bipartisanship are not of the crocodilian sort if he actually wants the vice president to raise cash for a man whose seething hatred for Republicans is matched only by his bounding unscrupulousness.
