Well, today is Peter Orszag’s last day as director of the Office of Management and Budget. Orszag decided to leave after less than a year and a half of service because he was smart enough to marry ABC’s Bianna Golodryga, arguably the hottest gal in broadcasting, and we’re not talking about her career path or her reporting.
We assume he (understandably) wanted to spend A LOT more time with her and didn’t want to be coming to work late so often with bags under his eyes.
See what we mean?
Actually, we have no idea why he’s leaving, but how’s he going to deny this story. “No, I don’t want to spend more time with my wife?” We doubt it. So we’ll just say she is the reason and move along.
Orszag may also want to spend more time with the LOVE CHILD he sired just before hooking up with Bianna.
All of us who’ve watched Peter over the years figured he was the ultimate nerd. It turned out he’s totally sexing up OMB.
Don Juan got an odd sendoff earlier this week. He stopped by the oh-so-square Brookings Institute to give a recitation of his accomplishments, when suddenly a deranged groupie began serenading him.
Boy, all the scruffy econ press types who cover OMB never wagered on the Orszag Excitement Factor.
He’ll be replaced by Jack Lew, a confirmed nerd who reminds people of Orszag before Orszag went so damn Hollywood. Lew isn’t confirmed yet, though, so a couple of caretakers are holding down the place for the time being.
But Lew is also turning out to be more of a thrill than people thought. Turns out he pocketed a bonus of more than $900,000 AFTER Citigroup got its TARP bailout money. So his confirmation process might be a little more exciting than we thought.
Who knows what else Lew has been up to.
Et tu, Lew?
Here’s what Obama had to say back in January on Wall Street Bonuses.
So, never mind.
