As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

White House Getting All it Can Out of Barton

The White House is eagerly fanning the flames of the conflagration started Thursday by Rep. Joe Barton, (R-Texas), who as you remember apologized to BP for what he called the White House “shakedown” that prompted them to pony up $20 billion for those harmed by the oil spill

Spokesman  Bill Burton said Barton’s sentiments are “what some folks in the Republican party truly believe, which is in this case BP is the wronged party.”

Burton, who spoke aboard Air Force One en route to Columbus, Ohio, warned: “If Republicans were in control of the House Joe Barton is the man who would be the chair of that committee. So that’s something people will be considering moving forward here.” More to come, fer sher.
