Obama Cashes in – on Wall Street; Here’s What He Used to Say

Et tu, Barack? You seemed so pure and good. You were The One. But you’re just another politician, a hypocrite who was just a deceptive as any other political animal, which some of us understood. But you’re worse, because of your moral preening.

According to Bloomberg, Obama is giving speeches to Wall Street for about $400,000 a pop. Wall Street. You remember, the fat cats? He’s delivered two and has another in the queue.

Since leaving office, Obama has delivered public and private speeches that are “true to his values,” Kevin Lewis, a spokesman for the former president, said in an email. “His paid speeches in part have allowed President Obama to contribute $2 million to Chicago programs offering job training and employment opportunities to low-income youth.”

How dumb. So we’re supposed to believe he’s giving speeches on Wall Street so he can contribute to charity. You go get ’em, Robin Hood! Meantime, he and Mrs. Obama have book contracts worth $60 million.

Let me take you down memory lane to witness a few of the things Obama has said about Wall Street.

We didn’t become the most prosperous country in the world just by rewarding greed and recklessness. We didn’t come this far by letting the special interests run wild. We didn’t do it just by gambling and chasing paper profits on Wall Street. We built this country by making things, by producing goods we could sell.

We will keep the promise of Social Security by taking the responsible steps to strengthen it – not by turning it over to Wall Street.

I did not run for office to be helping out a bunch of, you know, fat-cat bankers on Wall Street.

We need more responsibility, but we need it not just when there’s a crisis. I mean, we’ve had years in which the reigning economic ideology has been what’s good for Wall Street, but not what’s good for Main Street.

And this, about what he’ll do after he’s president:

I’m not going to Wall Street. The amount of time that I’ll be investing in issues is going to be high. But it’ll be necessarily in a different capacity.

  1. How odd that Wall Street would want to hear whatever he has to say and pay a fortune to listen.
What would they pay MrTrump when he’s out of office? He’s the one that has raised the markets to high levels, improved business fortunes and optimism, and will most likely redo the tax code to all advantage.

Seriously, what is he telling them?

  2. Once a lying Closet towel head….still is. He is deplorable and irrelevant. He should play the Joker in the next batmann movie.
Who in there right mind would read his book? The same morons reading the Hildabeast book?

  3. It just reinforces what we knew about Barry Obama from the first moments we observed him. To wit: he is a complete fraud. Always has been, always will be.

    • Was curious, so I translated to English. I was as disappointed as the kid in Christmas Story. “A stinkin’ commercial? Son-of-a-bitch!”
