  1. A message from the AG to Mayors Emmanuel &DeBlaso
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a press release accompanying the new standards:

“Cities and states that cooperate with federal law enforcement make all of us safer by helping remove dangerous criminals from our communities. This cooperation is supported by the vast majority of the American people, and jurisdictions with these policies in place should be acknowledged for their commitment to ending violent crime, including violent crime stemming from illegal immigration. Today, the Justice Department announced it will recognize jurisdictions that commit to the rule of law by awarding additional points in the application scoring process for COPS Office grants. My hope is that this recognition will further incentivize every jurisdiction in America to collaborate with federal law enforcement and help us make this country safer.”

  2. DeBlasio quietly approved free lunch for all NYC public school students this year. Sounds fair, at a cost…but then you read why they did it. They did not want those getting free lunch to feel shame for getting free lunch.

What about the shame of those who can afford to pay for lunch that now get free lunch?

This is not a huge issue, but it is terribly PC, once again….

    • I really don’t think many kids were embarrassed getting free food. Here in Tucson they serve breakfast & lunch year round. During summer break & other school vacations, hungary poor kids either go to their nearby school, OR the district delivers the food to their home.

  3. I wanted Hillary to be publicly shamed by “locking her up’. Now she is doing it to herself by her pathetic book tour wondering “what happened”. Why me?
She is showing the world how out of touch she is. May she continue to spiral downward.

    • Hillary’s been in a downward spiral–psychologically, ethically– for a very long time. It’s just amazing how completely out of touch with reality she is. Had she won election, she would have put the entire country in a downward spiral. History will not be kind to her.

      • History will not remember her…..

Adali Stevenson come up in conversation lately? Horace Greeley, William Jennings Bryan, Aaron Burr, Charles Hughes? Sorry for any spelling errors….

  4. We are already getting a few 20-25mph wind gusts here and the BIG one is supposed to hit at around 2 or 3 in the morning. I have most of my outside “stuff” put up in the garage and am making a ton of ice blocks to put in the cooler in case we loose power, which I know we will. It might be off for days they are telling us. I am on the west coast about 45 minutes north of Tampa. I am not in an evacuation zone but that could change also.

I don’t know if any of you have ever been through a hurricane but it IS scary and I’ve only seen winds at 50mpg in the past. Every window and door shakes and you feel like your house is going to blow up.

    • I have a friend living in St. Petersburg. Earlier this week she planned to ride it out. I do not know if she changed her mind. I see that power repair crews as far away as Califorina are headed to Florida.

The mayor of Gulfport is originally from Rockport, Texas which was 80% destroyed.

      Good luck.

  5. We have a wonderful governor and he has called a lot of states and asked them to send crews for electrical, telecommunications, clean up and anything else we might need after the storm. He has arranged for all of the fuel tankers to be escorted into Florida by Florida Highway Patrol or other police and private escorts so we have gas after the storm.

Today he put out an SOS for volunteer nurses to come and help in the shelters. He said we need 1000 more.
