Trump: Mueller is “Good Friends” with Comey, and that’s “Bothersome”

President Trump Friday pointed to a key concern even his opponents should have with the investigation into matters related to Russia, which is that the special counsel, Robert Mueller, is good friends with the star witness, James Comey.

“He’s very, very good friends with Comey, which is very bothersome,” Trump told Fox News Friday morning. Trump also noted that Meuller is staffing up with Clinton supporters.

“I can say that the people that have been hired are all Hillary Clinton supporters, some of them worked for Hillary Clinton,” Trump said. “I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous if you want to know the truth.”

Nevertheless, Trump opted not to get completely on the wrong side of Mueller.

“Robert Mueller is an honorable man, and hopefully he’ll come up with an honorable solution,” Trump said.

Trump also indicated his tweet suggesting he may have taped Comey during their conversations was a ruse designed to ensure that Comey offered an accurate description of their talks.

“When he found out that there may be tapes out there . . . I think his story may have changed,” Trump said. “I mean you’ll have to take a look at that because then he has to tell what actually happened at the events.”

Trump specifically suggested Comey’s admission that he had in fact advised Trump that he was not under investigation may have been prompted by the suggestion that there were tapes.

  1. I am glad that Trump spoke up. The Republicans certainly are not. And this is one of the reasons why the President tweets. There is no one on his side. So tweet away Mr. President!

Unlike President Trump I do not see Mueller as an “honorable” man.An honorable man would resign. Mueller will not. Both Rosenstein and Mueller should be gone. If they won’t resign, fire them. It can’t get much worse.

  2. Good on Presient Trump for calling out Mueller on his gaggle of HRC supporters.

Back in the olden days this would have been a Palace Coup. Trump should check his Russian stash and read up on Catherine the Great or other Tsars and Communist dictators who dealt with similar circumstances.

Might just as well put those “Trump/Russia” rumors to good use.

  3. There is no crime. No impeachment- worthy offense. Nada.
If there is a crime connected with Comey and the FBI, it’s on the Clinton campaign and the Clinton so-called charity for all of the foreign money
The other crimes worth noting are the many intrusions into private conversations that were outed by political cronies of Obama.
Perhaps another look at the IRS is in order, how about charging some awful people who work at the VA.

    • IRS Still waiting on that impeachment for Koskinen. I don’t know whose side the Repukelicans are on but it’s not mine or the President’s.

  4. We already know what Mueller will conclude at the end of his “investigation”.

It will go like this, before a gaggle of Washington reporters: “At the end of a long, in depth, exhaustive and thorough investigation of one of our Nation’s finest public servants, we have concluded that Mr. Comey is completely innocent of any crime, poor judgement or malfeasance. Mr. Comey has dedicated his entire life to the cause of Justice and continues doing that to this very day. This puts an end to any discussion about Mr. Comey’s motivations, disloyalty to the current Administration, or any actions he took to undermine the Administration of the knucklehead now occupying, incredibly, the White House. Now if you’ll excuse me, Mr. Comey and I have a Tee Off time at the East Potomac Golf Course. And I will take no questions. Have a nice day.”

  5. Many of us have been saying that for some time;) And, no, I don’t think he’s honorable and I doubt the President does either….
