As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Trump to Exit Paris Climate Change Deal: Report

President Trump is keeping a campaign promise to exit the Paris climate change accords, a decision that suggests conservatives in the White House continue to hold strong sway with the president.

According to Axios:

Details on how the withdrawal will be executed are being worked out by a small team including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. They’re deciding on whether to initiate a full, formal withdrawal — which could take 3 years — or exit the underlying United Nations climate change treaty, which would be faster but more extreme.

Trump has apparently rejected the advice of moderates like Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn, and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Steven Bannon, Pruitt, and others had argued forcefully that Trump needed to get out.

Trump’s decision is one of the most significant signs that he was serious about changing the way business is done in Washington, rejecting a treaty that members of the establishment on both sides of the aisle had embraced.

And it shows Trump is unaffected by criticism from German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who said after Trump’s visit last week to Europe that the continent would need to do more on its own, without America. In fact, given Trump’s propensity to push back, Merkel’s comments may well have cemented his decision.

UPDATE: Washington Post White House reporter Phil Rucker says, not so fast.

  1. I’m glad he got out.
I’m sick of other countries taking advantage of us.

Besides, this is the biggest scam ever perpetrated on mankind, by the biggest hypocrites I’ve ever seen.

  2. I pray to God this is true and Ivanka and Jared get to him at the last minute.

If all the other nations were serious about climate change they’d continue on with our without the U.S. But since all of us with brains realize it’s really just a way to hold American economy down while transferring wealth to other nations they’ll of course use us pulling out as an excuse not to do anything.

Heard some d***hit on CNN this morning whining about how America will lose out on all the economic opportunity of renewable energy and China will fill the void. Not one of those idiot talking heads bothered to mention that America can invest in renewables and be on the cutting edge of technology WITHOUT a multinational agreement controlling our economy.

    • And, speaking of China, it has the worst record of industrial pollution in the world–the world’s largest greenhouse gas (GHG) emitter since 2006. It claims to be addressing the issue, but I think we know what that will amount to. All talk and no action. So these dolts are saying China, all the while being the major polluter in the world, will now fill the “economic void” if America doesn’t play a role in the global climate scam. And we know China, being China, will continue on its path as a world class major polluter.

These global climate fanatics wouldn’t recognize irony if it hit them in the noggin like a runaway 18-wheeler.

    • And Germany is the new world leader.

This ought to be good.Maybe the Frau will issue all incoming illegals new military uniforms and make them part of the New German Armed Forces.

  3. This is great news. But why so long to actually get out?
Now everyone can wet their pants over this until the next controversial thing comes along.
Maybe the Kabul bombing will push this to the second page.

  4. Good for President Trump. We need to start ending or distancing ourselves from some of these international accords, etc.

Tom Steyner, one of the chief funders of the Dems and the Left, said earlier if Trump withdrew it would be a “traitorous act of war”. So now what Tom?

And finally why is Axios the go to source these days. Best I can tell it’s a bunch of ex Politico guys.
