Ivanka Trump Wednesday said allowing Syrian refugees into the U.S. “has to be part of the discussion” of how best to solve the humanitarian crisis plaguing the Arab world.
This would, um, appear to put her in conflict with President Trump, who has signed executive orders seeking to ban Syrian refugees from the United States as a national security risk. Not to mention campaigning on the same idea.
“I think there is a global humanitarian crisis that’s happening, and we have to come together, and we have to solve it,” Ivanka Trump told NBC News reporter Hallie Jackson.
“Does that include opening the border to Syrian refugees in the U.S.?” Jackson replied.
“That has to be part of the discussion, but that’s not going to be enough in and of itself,” Ivanka replied.
