As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Gorsuch Sworn in as Supreme Court Justice

Let’s hope, unlike other Republican appointees, that Gorsuch remains a conservative devoted to interpreting the actual Constitution, and not the Constitution to Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s fancy. I think he will.

President Trump congratulated Neil Gorsuch on being sworn in as a Supreme Court justice in the White House Rose Garden Monday, the Washington Examiner reported.

“I’ve always heard that the most important thing that a president of the United States does is appoint people — hopefully great people like this appointment — to the United States Supreme Court,” Trump said. “And I got it done in the first 100 days.”

Trump also thanked Republican senators who helped confirm his Supreme Court pick.

  1. I am so happy for Gorsuch’s confirmation. I watched his entire confirmation hearing. I firmly believe he will devote himself to interpreting the letter of the law and upholding the Constitution. He repeatedly told the committee that his job is to interpret the law. If they don’t like it, then they can change it. That’s their job, not his.

    • I cannot imagine how it will go when the next SCJ is nominated. Trump will get one or two mote times at bat–and that will change the dynamics of the court.

  2. I think Trump realizes this appointment was one of the big factors that tipped the scales in his direction. Republicans who might not have voted at all, not caring much for Trump himself, saw the importance of the next SC Justice. Can’t wait for one or two more!

  3. And the media is already decrying how Gorsuch will ‘drag the Court to the right’ … as if he’s somehow going to be MORE conservative than the man he’s replacing.

    Their bias is pathetic.

  4. Why do libs hate the new SCOTUS dude? So what if he’s conservative? We thought Roberts was a conservative and he gave us same sex marriage! And the ObamaCare decision! America is a lost country, doomed with our new President Jared Kushner and Vice President, Hillary Creepers.

Turns out DJT was a ‘beard’ for the two clunkers.

But what a country! We’ve had unelected Presidents before that caused great harm. Truman used the atom bomb on innocents–
Johnson gave us Viet Nam and close to 60K young men and women died for an undeclared war. Gerald Ford appointed to exonerate Nixon, and then Ford appointed Rockefeller…who as ex Veep died in the arms of a prostitute. Reagan sashayed in and oh, was he a conservative!!!

This country has been lost since FDR wheeled himself into the White House and the grand tradition of Grey House, we have the present occupants which, so early in the game, is tragic.
