As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Trump: Reporters Making up Their Sources

I don’t think this happens, at least not often. What does happen is that reporters cherry pick sources and quotes to back up the storyline they are pushing, which in the MSM is almost inevitably anti-Trump.

From the Washington Examiner:

President Trump said Friday that reporters who cover the White House should stop relying on anonymous sources who refuse to criticize him on the record.

“A few days ago I called the fake news the enemy of the people and they are, they are the enemy of the people because they have no sources, they just make ’em up when there are none,” Trump told thousands of grassroots activists at the 44th annual Conservative Political Action Conference.

“I’m against the people that make up stories and make up sources,” he said. “They shouldn’t be allowed to use sources unless they use someone’s name. Let them say it to my face.”

  1. How easy would it be to turn to an associate, ask their opinion on something, then list them as a “source”? Too easy to do, imo. Every day there are thousands of “so-called” insider quips and quotes. Just who are these insiders? There was a time that people looked to the news for information and news. Now, it appears most view the media as am alternate entertainment or means to protest whatever the favor of the day is. Objective investigative reporting has long disappeared mostly. Surely there are a few left. The majority now “report” their opinions and rumors and try to pass it off as news. It is very simple to twist a few words, drop a few, add a few and the entire subject has shifted. Depending on the views of that particular media and its followers, it is then deemed as worthy.
Where once the media was the Fourth Estate and respected as such, it now leaves a bad taste in your mouth. They have become the “gossip” rags they once denigrated.
Perhaps President Trump has a point — “say it to me face”. Who among us like others talking behind our backs with little substance to their claim?

    • I think we get it, and I’m getting weary of hearing about it from the President. It’s to the point where he could just say “You know how I feel about the news media”. Haven’t watched the MSM for info, don’t plan on it. I’d rather hear him talk about other things.

      • I understand what you are saying and I am getting tired of it as well. However, I do not think the point can be made too often as long as the MSM persists.

This comment, was reported as The WH barring CNN and others from reporting and Trump calling the media enemies of the state, instead of the fake news as enemies of the state. Trump does not paint with a fine brush and the media purposely runs with incorrect variations.

Jake Tapper almost had a heart attack so hyperventilated was he. I exaggerate, but I do understand why it is necessary that they get called out. They will not stop. And they have the power to destroy this Presidency and this country if not held to responsible reporting.

It is unfortunate, but it is what it is at the moment.
