Trump Backs “Nuclear Option” for Supreme Court Pick

Nuclear option would allow a Supreme Court pick to be confirmed by 50 Senators and VP breaking the tie. Currently, it will take 60. I’m betting the Dems get nuked, just like they did the Republicans over other nominations under Obama.

From the Examiner:

President Trump wants Senate Republicans to use the nuclear option to change Senate rules if needed in order to confirm his Supreme Court nominee, he said in a yet-to-air interview with Fox News.

The “nuclear option” refers to the Senate majority’s ability to lower the number of votes required to end debate on the yet-to-be-named nominee, which would allow Republicans to overcome Democratic obstruction and advance Trump’s choice.

“Yes, I would,” Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity when asked whether he would want Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to use the nuclear option. “We have obstructionists, these are people that don’t want, I think, what they did to [attorney general nominee] Jeff Sessions, who’s a great man and a wonderful man, and then they delayed it another week because they have a one week delay option. That’s not fair to a man.”

  1. The Progs thought they would never lose power, so they bent and broke the system as they pleased. Now, there’s a payday for that reckless behavior.
