Trump to Unravel Obamacare with a Pen and a Phone

There’s a downside to ruling by fiat. A new guy might come in and undo your fiats.

From the Washington Examiner:

President-elect Trump will use executive orders to unravel parts of Obamacare as Congress works to repeal the law, according to Republicans who met Wednesday morning with Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

Pence and Trump aides, including Kellyanne Conway and Reince Prebius, met Wednesday morning with the House Republican Conference about repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act . . . “Since this president, Obama, used the pen and the phone to enact legislation to go around the checks and balances of the Constitution, they’re going to restore the checks and balances of the Constitution by removing those executive actions,” Brady told reporters.

  1. ……back atcha Obama. Trump has a pen and a phone and he actually works–20 hours a day and night.
There is so much wrong with the ACA. I guess I am out of touch, but why are young people on their parents healthcare until age 26. I remember, as a fresh college graduate, creating a spreadsheet of each company’s benefits that I wanted to work for. Healthcare was a huge determinate. Why don’t these same young people get a job. Especially, if, as Obama claims, the economy is sooooo much better. Delusional.

  2. Whew. I navigated through the pop up videos, the interrupting ads and the following stories and read the whole piece on the Examiner website only to learn that this (above) says it all.

  3. Trump made an excellent choice in Pence. This Obamacare thing will be very dicey. And the Dems are waiting for the Republicans to mess up so they can try and gain seats at mid term elections and claim Trump not fulfilling “promises”.

From what I have read and heard, Pence will guide this with a steady hand. And he understands fully that this is in effect and it is real people we are dealing with. Not so pie in the eye scheme that it was when the Grand Social Experiment of Barack Obama’s rammed its way down the throats of Americans.

And for as much as I have faulted the Republicans, unraveling this nightmare of a mess will be very difficult. And the Democrats deserve all of the blame and any criticism coming to the Republicans from them should bounce right back. They own it.

Probably few really know what is going on because they have yet to manage Nancy’s Pelosi’s suggestion of having “to read it to know what is in it”.

And no, no, no to any Republican who feels they have to compromise with the Dems on this at all. Just to the best for all the people.

  4. If they get rid of the IRS and employers mandates and fines and regulations the world will be much better. I NEVER needed the government to tell me I needed health insurance, I just worked for it! STUPID
