Sanders: “Very Small Minority” of Trump Backers Racist

Sanders says something Republicans can agree with. It happens sometimes.

“All across this country, there are millions and millions of decent, good people who are frightened about the world that they are living in,” Sanders said during an appearance Wednesday night in Washington. “That is the reality that Mr. Trump perceived to be true. And he said, ‘I hear that you’re hurting, and I hear and understand that you’re worried about the future for your kids,'” Bernie said. Racists “are a very small minority of the people voted for Mr. Trump.”

Unlike the Washington elite, of which he is not a part, Sanders understands that there is deep frustration and fear in the country, even if his solutions will only make things much worse. While Clinton and Obama deliver blather about us not being “fearful,” Sanders gets the reality, that there are serious reasons for concern and Americans ought not be told to ignore reality.

  1. IMO, he meant to say–calling people who don’t support us bad names doesn’t work.
Deplorables. Millions of Americans proudly claimed themselves ‘deplorable’ after MrsClinton painted them that way.

It won’t be long that smarter Dems will realize that the sore loser protests are backfiring and solidifying opposition to all Dem agendas and themselves.

  2. BERNIE U NEVER FINISH A SENTENANCE UNLESS ITS ! 1% THURS

Bernie said. Racists “are a very small minority of the people voted for Mr. Trump.”

  3. Mr. Koffler, Now there are millions and millions more people who are frightened about the world they are living in. The fear that Clinton and Obama “blather” about is fear of being bombed, fear of being deported, fear of more hate crimes, fear of more churches being burned, fear of more swastikas being painted, fear for one’s personal safety. To imply that this is not “the reality” is to be very out-of-touch. It’s a different kind of fear. Sanders gets this. You seem not to.
