Obamacare Premiums to Rise 25 Percent Next Year

Premiums for those by buying insurance under the AFFORDABLE Care Act will go up on average by 25 percent, according to the Associated Press. Meantime, about twenty-five percent will be down to just a single insurer to choose from as carriers such as UnitedHealth Group, Humana and Aetna flee the money-losing Obamacare scheme.

We passed the bill. Now we know what’s in it!

According to AP:

In some states, the premium increases are striking. In Arizona, unsubsidized premiums for a 27-year-old buying a benchmark “second-lowest cost silver plan” will jump by 116 percent, from $196 to $422, according to the administration report. Oklahoma has the next biggest increase for a similarly situated customer, 69 percent.

“Consumers will be faced this year with not only big premium increases but also with a declining number of insurers participating, and that will lead to a tumultuous open enrollment period,” said Larry Levitt, who tracks the health care law for the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation.

  1. Not so afforable now, as if it ever was! I’m glad this news came out before the election. It should garner a few more votes for Trump.

    • You know the Whiner in Chief is going to blame it all on the Insurance Companies. And since they played ball, I don’t feel one bit sorry for them either.

That said, both the government and the Insurance Companies and Big Pharma will all let the American people hang out to dry. And the Republicans don’t get why we would oppose an agenda driven by the COC.

      Single Payer coming your way.

And they will still vote for Hillary and the Democrats.

  2. Competition across state lines is the answer.
That is what Trump is proposing.
I would also like to see him force the congress to use the same health care that they forced on us.

    Isn’t that only fair?

    • They may own it, but I’m paying for it!

I’m self-employed and my monthly premium is increasing 23% from $367/month to $450/month. Deductible increasing, too – now up to $6500.

      I’m screwed.

  3. Calling Nancy Pelosi. Congresswoman Pelosi to the podium please.

The American people would like to have a word with you.

Anybody seen Nancy? Paul, is she over at your place?

    • Grace, I was so glad when I read/heard about the liberation of Bartella, the Christian town near Mosul. Indeed, the sweet sound of churchbells in the MidEast. And at last we can hear reports , even in our MSM, of how Islamists treat Christians. In the most horrendous ways. These people I would gladly welcome as refugees here. We would understand each other much better.

  4. I guess we switched over to the affordable care act at my work, via HMSA because now the premiums are based on age. Isn’t that racist? Anyways it’s been three months and as the HR Rep I am still trying to rectify double billing for myself and my boss and two new hires. What a mess, I think I will go vote early tomorrow.

  5. Insure them all I say. What difference does it make. Actually good, compassionate health care, hands on medicine, healing arts, with good MD’s that can live up to what MD stands for, “Make Diagnosis” does not or should not depend on a plastic card in my wallet. Access to compassion? Denied! All because I don’t belong to the club. Then if the health industry were considered outlaws therefore no insurance carrier would play the game. and all dealings with it, cash only, cost of it would fall into the competitive market place. Insurance drives up the cost by being the third party negotiator Working the angles for their bottom line, not your bottom. Just a wild guess here, but it seems to me the socialist, communist, liberal government’s this nation struggles to endure, as we watch them crank out another welfare after another welfare, just for self-gratification. The International interplanetary, cosmic law of creation applies? ” It is so easy, to spend, other peoples money!”

  6. Mine is already up another 8 thousand dollars a year as of two months ago. How in the hell are we going to handle another 25%?!?!? Please vote for Trump. He is our only chance.

    • I just heard some expert on the radio who said that in 2018, ObamaCare premiums were scheduled to go up ANOTHER 35-50 percent and with a much higher deductible than now or in 2017. There will be riots on the streets when that happens. We have all come to understand that ObamaCare was designed to fail, with the Democrat goal being a government one-payer system. Jonathan Gruber and all the D’s who voted for this fascist government program should be in jail.
