Trump Gets Presidential in Louisiana

Wanted to share with you my latest piece for LifeZette, “Trump plays the role of president in Louisiana.” It’s currently residing at the very top of the Drudge Report.

From the piece:

In a brilliant maneuver perfectly timed to complement his campaign revamp, Republican nominee Donald Trump today landed in Louisiana to witness first-hand the devastation wrought by flooding not seen there since Hurricane Katrina pummeled the Gulf Coast in 2005.

Trump’s arrival on the scene helps him on a number of levels. Most importantly, it provides a dramatic contrast to Hillary Clinton and President Obama, both of whom have neglected to visit a region where more than a dozen have died and tens of thousands have been forced out of their homes.

Trump’s move to see for himself the plight of disaster victims lends him a presidential aura that critics say he has been lacking due to off-the-cuff remarks that have, at times, sounded as crass and immature. Obama, the actual president, has responded absurdly, refusing to budge from the Martha’s Vineyard golf courses where he is playing nearly daily with celebrities and wealthy friends — even to issue a public statement, let alone visit the unfolding tragedy.

  1. Nicely done. I’d only add that MrTrump’s trip wasn’t paid for by the taxpayers as would have MrOboma’s (had he bothered to care), but charged to his own wallet.

  2. “Trump plays the role of president in Louisiana”
    Slight disagreement, Mr. K
Obama “plays” the role of president, Trump shows presidential leadership, imho.

  3. Good on yer Donald!
Typical of Obama not to give a sh!t. Flooding doesn’t have the “unarmed black youth shot by cop,” element to it. Besides he is a short timer, no political capital to be had from the disaster.
As for Hillary, I don’t see her getting anywhere near anything muddy or yucky or reeking of unwashed, despairing humanity.

  4. Yea Keith. Top billing on Drudge. Sweet.

Good article too. I think you might be hearing from some of your MSM “buddies” for daring to speak of Bush/Katrina and Obama/LA. Ouch.

I would hope that this, and his efforts of the past week, are a turning point. An answer to the MSM and HRC who claim him as scary, dangerous etc.

BTW, Scott Adams would agree with you I think. He supports your thinking in a recent blog piece about Trump’s Third Act.

Anyway, hope good things come your way. More teevee exposure? teehee

  5. Congrats on the Drudge Headline (the biggy one!!). Boy I remember the days when a WHD link made it to one of the Drudge columns and we’d get 300-700 comments here. Don’t miss the trolls though :)

  6. Hey Keith, Will you please start posting Trump’s daily schedule instead of baraka’s? That shameless, worthless liar doesn’t deserve his schedule to be posted anywhere and Im sure many readers like me are sick of seeing it.

My name is Ol’ Gator and I approve of this posting..

  7. What is it with Obama and Louisiana???
Who can forget Obama’s criminal neglect and lack of leadership after the Gulf oil spill in 2010???

It was NINE DAYS before he made a public statement, and 58 days until he gave a speech. In the interim, he partied and took vacations.
He should have been deemed ‘incompetent’ after that debacle, and ‘fired’.

Here us a video timeline of parties and vacations while Obama was MIA in Louisiana in 2010.

Trump should use portions for a campaign ad. It’s damning!

    • My guess: Obama believes LA will vote for Hillary no matter what. He doesn’t see a need to prop up her or the Democrat vote there. Plus, he’s a cold-hearted dude, completely lacking in empathy for anyone but himself. And he’s on vacation. He’s checked out.

  8. Here’s an article from 2008 analyzing “why Reagan won” the election. The similarities between how the “smart set” in the media and other hacks portrayed Reagan vs Carter, and how they are currently framing the Trump vs Hillary race are startling. It’s déjà vu all over again, as Yogi would say. It’s a quick read but reminds us of how incredibly corrupt the corporate media is, how in the bag for Democrats they are, and how unconnected they are to the real mood of the electorate. And it illustrates of how determined these knuckleheads to swing an election toward the Democrat candidate. Fun read.

  9. This is just too funny. Big gun Chris Cillizza at WAPO says that the reason Barack Obama is not in Louisiana is that he hates “theater politics”. Yeppers, that’s our Prezzy. So media shy, low key, out of the limelight…never wishing to disturb, upset anyone with his mere presence.

The same of Valerie Jarrett theme — he is so bright, and aloof and well, just above it all. Crikey.

Oh lookey, lookey who is going to go to Louisiana! Maybe he will stop by and give HRC a lift too. Surely they have a recliner and many pillows to prop her up comfortably.
