  1. So, doing nothing all day until a meeting at 2:30, (we know he skips the PDB’s).

And, ready for this? Ugh, ugh, UGH – just as we’ve been predicting, we will never get rid of Barry and Moochelle:

Obamas to remain in D.C. after presidency so daughter can finish high school

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2016/03/03/obamas-remain-dc-after-presidency-so-daughter-can-finish-high-school/81275904/

President Obama cast some light on his post-presidency plans Thursday, telling lunch companions in Milwaukee that he plans to remain in Washington so that his youngest daughter can finish high school.

“We’re going to have to stay a couple of years so Sasha can finish. Transferring someone in the middle of high school — tough,” he said while eating lunch at a Milwaukee restaurant.

Beyond that? “We haven’t figured that out yet,” he said.

Perhaps realizing that he was within earshot of his traveling press corps, he then shooed reporters away. “Thanks guys,” he said. “Get out of here.”

    (snip)

    • I call bull-cookies on that excuse for staying in DC.
They might stay there a while, but when he learns that there are no more tax-payer limos to take him somewhere, no more special treatment at the posh eateries, no one bothers to visit, and the press no longer wants to take photos of him and his family, they’ll decide the daughter can just adjust to a new and “better” school somewhere else.

He has something in mind that he thinks would require him to be in DC. We’ll find out soon enough, I’m sure.

    • I moved and changed high schools between my sophomore and junior years. It certainly wasn’t the end of the world and didn’t ruin my life.

If they don’t want Sasha to change high schools, can’t she board and still go to Sidwell? Does the school offer that option? It’s not like her parents are around all the time and helping her with her homework.

    • This is so inappropriate, for heavens sake! Your time is done, move on, let the new president now have the spotlight.

That’s Mr0’s problem–he has to be the star. It’s always about him.

  2. Kerry’s trip to Cuba cancelled for mid-March. To no one’s surprise “U.S. officials said on Thursday, amid concerns over the Cuban government’s human rights record.”

      • The General Services Admin better do an audit of White House furnishings before the Obama’s leave. Could be a repeat of the Bill and Hillary robbery of $200,000 in White House property.

      • They divorced secretly… can’t you all tell their whole relationship is bull**** and they say and do things that put on for the media. BHO has no intentions of staying in DC. He is out of there. I’m surprised none of you judgmental commentators have picked up on the whole game. She cheated and they divorced two years ago.

  3. Good morning all. I did not watch the debate. I read the questions and answers as it went along. A high school debate seems more professional.

    • HS debates are way more professional. I debated in HS and college–real debate has rules, involves evidence if not proof, means thinking through the national topic, and yes, being able to argue either side effectively. And so on. Not like this whip-out-the-ruler dozens, talk-over stuff.

  4. Jean Francois Kerre — still around. Thought he took the year off to sail around the world — maybe stop in China and check out what’s going on there —

Anyway, I was thinking about the Republicans. First, they try to sell us Jeb, then Marco Polo and now Romney. We should dig up Reagan, give him a tune up, shoot him up with fancy dancy embalming fluid and put him on display on the National Mall. It’s not Red Square, but …

    Instantly Leninized.

    • Like throwing a bucket of ice water in the face of the msm.
This should wake them up, but it won’t, they’ll just continue attacking, but from another direction.
Hell, they have the RNC ,et al working with them.

      • The RNC has to go through a Reformation, which is in the early stages right now. My opinion. They won’t make it until they clean up their act.

    • Great find Marcus.
Trump is not one to give up when his opponents are trashing him.
Rather, it only increases his will to defeat them.

That is the essence of a leader.

He has repeatedly stated in his rallys that this isn’t about me, it’s about you, meaning the American People.

And the American People are telling WDC that we are sick and tired of politicians that exemplify the term “all hat and no cattle”.

      • Yep, every now and then we have to vacuum the whole house to clean it out thoroughly. We’re at the early stages of that right now, I believe. Gonna be painful for a lot of big shots up there in Washington. They’re resisting it, but destiny will overtake them. We’ll be a lot better off, and more effective, when the process does what it’s supposed to do. Every organization needs to do that once in a while. Should have happened to the RNC years ago.

        • In the meantime, with all this creative destruction or however it is rationalized, I have no party…no smaller govt, fiscally responsible, regular order using, but still reasonably compassionate place to go. I am not alone in thinking that would be REALLY great.

  5. By the way, Keith–today is March 4–I noticed bec my birthday is tomorrow–March 5. My maternal grandfather’s birthday was March 4, apropos of nothing.

    • Even slogans must have some substance.
Health care in America is so fouled up, complicated and expensive it may be unfixable.
Any plans to repair, replace or improve it would just add more layers of bureaucracy.
      Unfixable?

      • You have a point that it has been tweaked and layered upon and is now a hodgepodge of weirdness–but you can’t tear it out root and branch because people are still sick and will get sick. Maybe in this respect, it is unfixable…How do we get back to an overnight hosp stay being $500 not $55,000 even though no one but the most uniformed pays the latter fee? I work with this everyday and I don’t know. I know you can’t just ramp Medicare to be for all–prohibitive. And believe it or not, the govt by law is supposed to go to the private sector unless they can make a case for doing it in-house.

        • Cut back on the regulations.
Get the federal government out of the process.

I’m not sure, but the whole system is so convoluted at this point it needs to be struck down an started over.
          IMO.

        • The problem is — to my mind–that we can’t start over. That would mean either govt pays or ins cos run wild with instructions to glom on every bell and whistle, cancel really sick people, and turn down people who have back backs or 50 extra lbs. Not a mix of both like we have now. Savings accts only go part of the way–even if you give everyone $2000 a year from the time they are born, that’s $90,000 by the first heart attack–which can cost that…what about the rest of the family? Mom may need to use part of Junior’s fund for cancer, then what about Junior’s heart attack down the road? It does not add up.
