As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Video || By All Means, Obama, Let’s Talk Guns this Holiday

President Obama wants Americans to discuss guns at the Thanksgiving table this holiday. That’s a great idea, but not, as this video by LifeZette makes clear, for exactly the reasons he thinks.

  1. Obama is so full of “feces”, it makes my head spin.
He once stated that getting a gun was easier than getting a library book.
    Pure insanity.
He wants to prevent terrorist from getting guns.
So that means they are here already?
    Madness I tell you madness.

  2. *The White House Wants Us All To Talk Gun Control This Thanksgiving*

Personally, I would prefer to discuss the ACTUAL CORE issue of gun violence by addressing with family, friends and neighbors America’s expanding and shameful *National Epidemic of Childhood Abuse and Neglect*, *Poverty*, that for more than two generations has deprived untold numbers of American kids from experiencing and enjoying a fairly happy American kid childhood with *Safe Streets* to travel and play on,

*Child Abuse and Neglect* that is primarily responsible for populating our prisons with depressed, angry, frustrated, undisciplined, unpredictable, sometimes suicidal teens and adults full of resentment for irresponsibly being introduced to a life of hardships and struggles.

*Early Childhood Abuse and Neglect* that often leads depressed, sometimes suicidal *(NY Times May 18, 2015 – Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers)* children to develop into depressed, angry, frustrated, unpredictable, sometimes suicidal teens and adults lacking empathy and compassion for others, though needing to vent their pent up negative emotions, often causing emotional and physical harm to peaceful people…instead of venting their anger, resentment and pain on the immature single moms and/or dads who introduced them to a life of pain and struggle by irresponsibly building a family before acquiring the practical skills, *PATIENCE* and means to successfully raise and nurture a developing young child who matures into a fairly happy responsible teen and adult with mostly fond memories of their childhood.

Who or what is responsible for traumatizing, abusing, neglecting, maltreating children to the point where depressed young kids, we’re talking elementary school children, to believe their lives are not worth living?

The question all concerned, compassionate Americans should seriously be asking ourselves, our elected, civil, social, community and religious leaders is, “What real, substantial changes in our society’s attitude and laws need to occur to prevent abuse that often causes young kids to mature into depressed, frustrated, angry teens and adults as a result of experiencing the *emotional and/or physical trauma of an abusive childhood?”*

    • If Black children are told from their early years that they will be the victims of racism, that they don’t have a chance of a good education, that only crime or prison awaits them, then how is it surprising they are so depressed they don’t want to live?
Short of removing Black children from their families, there’s not much we can do about their situation.

    • I was in DC for work last week, and walked into a building at nasa, noticing the black and mexican workers doing the landscaping outside, while the vast majority inside are white. Reminded me once again what a disservice these people’s culture has done to them by not telling them they could and should get an education.

I was given nothing, then made my situation worse by dropping out of high school. But I got it together, got a GED, found a way into engineering school, graduated with honors, went to graduate school. Nothing I took advantage of had anything to do with my race (quite the contrary actually). Nobody can tell me they are ‘disadvantaged’, except by their own culture or upbringing.

  3. MrObama and his minions just have no idea,no inkling of “who we are”.
While the media has their own idea of outrage and what should happen to those who voice non-PC ideas, the Obama WhiteHouse is just clueless to what the public talks about, anywhere or anytime, and gun control is not a topic with us.
As GrimmCreeper suggests, if firearms are discussed at all it would be to compare the value of one caliber over the other.

Hunting season just opened in the NorthEast, rabbits are being shot down, and soon the lovely deer will be running for their lives.
No one in a hunting family will ever give up their firearms, ever.
So what will families talk about over dinner – who’s doing well in school, how’s Gramps doing, did Sonny find a job yet, how cold do you think it will get this winter, etc.
Not politics, no racial issues, no ISIS, no global warming, and most of all no world affairs.

  4. Mmmm. Rabbit stew with dumplings. Venison roast, sausage and jerky.
    Pheasant with herb stuffing.
That should hold me over till fishing season.
As for calibers, better to hit the aggressor with a .22 than miss him 30-30.

    • I remember a “cop” story I heard once (my ex was a competitive pistol shooter). A cop’s family was threatened–and he shot six times. They asked him in the inquiry–hwhy six? He said that’s all the bullets I had.

  5. asshat.

He’s got a lot more to worry about than our 2nd amendment rights. Squirrel.

But I hope the Obots are stupid enough to do this on their Thanksgiving. They are stupid enough to welcome terrorists in as refugees — definitely stupid enough to take a day of gratitude and turn it into a mess of complaining.

  6. There is no way I’m going to take his advice and talk about gun control on a day set aside to be with my family and give thanks. He dominates the news daily – I want just one day without His Idiocy.

  7. Putin on the downing of the Russian jet by Turkey, “it was a stab in the back by those who support terrorism “.
Watching Deutsch News, my source for Putin’s comment.
    The man looks severely p/o.

  8. Obama and Company’s demands that we argue with family members about gun control at the Thanksgiving table is just another indicator of how untethered he is from normal American society. He really is a whack job.

  9. On Sunday I visited the Lexington Green , the shot heard round the world , I remarked in viewing the statue , the embattled farmer : ” That is why we have a Second Amendment ” .

    • jaytrain,
did you ever wonder why the right to bear arms was made the 2nd Amendment? Not the 4th or 6th, but the 2nd because it was that important to maintain freedom. And still is as far as I’m concerned.
A few farmers, craftsmen, a minster or two and some fieldhands, stood their ground and said enough.
And changed world history from then on.

      • If you read some of the documents–Federalist Papers, etc–of that time, it’s very clear they believed the 2d Amendment would help protect them from an attack from their own Federal government in Washington, or a tyrannical and out of control State government, as well, among other possibilities–the Brits in Canada for example, etc. The 2d Amendment meant far more than just “hunting deer”, as some of the “I surrender” quislings claim.

  10. OT After a great deal of time going back and forth over costs etc, I have finally dropped Comcast cable. An added plus — goodbye all those actual cables. Kept the internet. So, good news for me!

That said, I am reviewing my streaming options. One thing is news — right now I am watching Sky News — anti Putin, pro NATO and lots of innuendos about American supported rebels and American armaments — all very British, and innocent on their side of course.

I will check out Bloomberg as well. I just want the news, very little to no commentary works for me. Does anybody have any suggestions for news sources?

I don’t know enough about British affairs but apparently there is quite the do about cutting funding — by 20 bn pounds, but welfare capped at 150 bn for coming year. FYI

No talk of guns of course in UK.

    • Grace, how do you pick up Sky News without having cable?

We are looking into getting rid of DirecTV. Even with an antenna, we will only get the networks, but not CBS.

      • I don’t have an antenna yet, but my neighbors get local news and local cbs. As for the sky news I was just looking at the free streaming news channels on Roku. I clicked on Sky — you can get vignettes of news events and also some of the straight news broadcasting. It’s not great, but it will do.

Also I can get Fox radio on the computer.

So far my am substitute for news has been the pachabel canon (sp) -hokey to some but one of my favorites.

    • Watching your journey carefully, to see where you come out on this. We are Time Warner cabled up, and hate it. Too expensive, that’s the problem. Minimum hookup (not HBO, pay to view movie channels, etc.) and it costs us $171 monthly That’s ridiculous. And just rock bottom customer service. I have one of those wifi radios which carries the news, breaking events (65,000 digital quality stations, world-wide) etc, etc, and it’s easy to keep up with stuff, talk shows, Fox news, etc.. Hulu and other similar providers would work well also, it seems. Strange we have to go through all this readjustment, but that’s where we are. Not sure about the antenna requirements, what could be received here. Still thinking about it.

  11. The money I think about it, the more steamed I get.
How dare Obama to even remotely suggest let alone tell us what to talk about on a day of giving thanks. And at OUR dinner table.
    What nerve.
Hey Barry. And the horse you rode in on.

  12. Well this is the same president that wanted you (a 35 yo man) to spend Christmas wearing footy jammies and telling mommy and daddy about why they should pay for your insurance.

  13. Rather than pay the slightest attention to what Obama tells us to talk about with our family at the Thanksgiving table, read this to your family: Abraham Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Day Proclamation. I’ve read it as a form of Grace to our gathered family for the last two years, and I will do so again Thursday.

    http://history1800s.about.com/od/abrahamlincoln/a/Lincoln-Thanksgiving-proclam.htm

Can any of us, in our wildest dreams, believe that Obama has any of the principles and values and understanding of our Thanksgiving that Lincoln held? Of course not.

    • Thanks for the link, Marcus. It’s very interesting history. I have it printed and ready for my family tomorrow. I’m sure our grandkids will be surprised to know that the author of Mary Had a Little Lamb was so instrumental in us having a national Thanksgiving holiday.
      I know I was!

      • It’s also a bit of a history lesson about our nation, says a lot about Lincoln himself, and the state of the nation at that time. Lincoln rose above all the turmoil, all the pain, and found the voice he needed to make the Proclamation. Glad you like it! Your family will as well.

        • I also blogged this week that the Pilgrims were 50 yrs AFtER the first t-day, which was outside what is now St Augustine FL. The Spanish explorer Menendez finally washed up with four of his starting eight ships and threw a Thanksgiving Mass and feast with the indigenous population as well as other adventuresome types already there…The record states he wanted to know more about the Indians–and not so he could kill them, either.

      • We’re having sorta two Thanksgivings this year. One is on Thursday, where we are having our daughter and two grandchildren and some other people at the house, and the 2d one on Sat in NH where the rest of us will gather at my son’s house. Not sure why we split it up this year, something about work schedules, etc. I think. I don’t ask questions about this stuff, pretty much just go along and enjoy the occasion. ;+}
