Obama Gives Up on Israeli-Palestinian Peace Deal; Blames Netanyahu

President Obama told Israeli TV in an interview broadcast Tuesday that a Palestinian-Israeli peace deal is not going to happen under his watch.

Secretary of State John Kerry, you may remember, wasted two years trying to arrange a Nobel Peace Prize for himself by seeking to force the two sides together into an agreement neither was particularly interested in reaching at the moment.

Fortunately, with the Iran deal, Kerry has a new path toward a Nobel Prize, which at least has given him something else to do.

Instead blaming himself for the failure – this of course could never happen – Obama blamed Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, saying Bibi had “lost credibility” in the quest for peace. Somehow, the Palestinians, who are led in part by terrorists and regularly launch bombs on the heads of the Israelis, retain their peacenik creds.

From an Associated Press article about the interview:

“I don’t see the likelihood of a framework agreement,” Obama said in an interview with Uvda, a current-affairs program produced by Israel’s top-rated Channel Two and Keshet television. “The question is how do we create some building blocks of trust and progress.”

While Obama has acknowledged the geographical and ideological divisions among Palestinians that have bedeviled peace efforts, in the interview — taped in the White House on Friday — he focused on Netanyahu’s policies . . .

Obama said Netanyahu’s position “has so many caveats, so many conditions that it is not realistic to think that those conditions would be met at any time in the near future.

“So the danger is that Israel as a whole loses credibility. Already, the international community does not believe that Israel is serious about a two-state solution.”

Meanwhile, the president apparently proclaimed himself an honorary Jew, telling advisor David Axelrod at one point, “You know, I think I am the closest thing to a Jew that has ever sat in this office,” and adding, “For people to say that I am anti-Israel, or, even worse, anti-Semitic, it hurts.”

Anyway, no doubt the closest thing to a Jew will soon be launching retributive actions against Israel in the UN for it’s failure to make peace with enemies sworn to destroy it.

  1. Well, if anyone knows anything about losing credibility, it’s President Red Lines. As far as being the closest thing to a Jew to sit in the Oval Office, well, there are just no words to describe the unmitigated chutzpah of that statement.

  2. Obama to Kerry: “Hey John, the Israel/Palestinian deal is fugazy. Lets focus on making the Iran deal our benchmark performance… break a leg!”

  3. I think he misspoke about his being the closest thing of being a Jew as any president. Actually, he is the closest thing of being a Muslim as any president.

There will not be peace over there until the Palestinians stop putting AK47s in the hands of children and telling them to go kill a Jew.

    • I don’t think that he understands/perceives how stupid his comments are to intelligent people.
Recently, it has been stated that he lives in a bubble, insulated from reality.
      I’m beginning to believe it.

    • Clinton was far closer to being a black president than Obama is to being a Jew. In fact, Clinton is more in tune with black Americans than is Obama. Obama is African and East Asian in his heart and mind, no matter where he was born.

  4. We’re all grownups here, right? We’re also not very PC either -so;
It’s not clear why he feels somewhat Jewish – a circumcision maybe? Regardless of that, from what we see and hear from the American Jewish community they aren’t very pro-Israeli, so he could be focused on that aspect of Judism.
What would reassure all Israelis is a Presidential Christian based support of their country- meaning they would have the full backing of our military, that we consider Israel’s enemies ours, too and we would understand anything they must do to protect their people and their future.

    • All I know is my friend in Jerusalem moved closed to the West Bank (she is an American Jew) and wrote me about running into shelters to dodge rockets on many a summer nite. She despises Obama.

  5. Ah, Barry Blamer strikes again.
While he may not be anything close to a Jew, he is the closes thing a to a total freakin’ retard that will ever squat in the White House.

  6. maybe Obama means he’s the closest thing to a suicidal liberal Jew like Jeremy Ben-Ami and Peter Beinart are: a self-hating, pro-Palestinian, J-Street Jew.

    I’ll give him that.

  7. I am glad that the Israelis at least seem to see Obama for what he is: a lying charlatan. It would be doubly awful for his twisted words to reflect badly on a great leader like Netanyahu. Instead, the more Obama rants the stronger Bibi’s support becomes. That must really crank Obama, and anything that cranks Obama pleases me.
