  1. So, Obummer is having a rare 5 pm meeting. I wonder what he’s doing with all that free time after lunch.

The meeting with Burwell is probably a strategy meeting regarding their plans for when the Supremes release their decision in the Obamacare subsidies case next month. If they rule correctly and invalidate all the subsidies that are currently being given out illegally to people on the federal exchange, I fully expect Obummer and the Dems to demand that the big, bad Republicans fix it by amending the poorly written Obamacare law. And, I will not be the least bit surprised if McConnell and the Republicans do just that, fix the Democrats’ crappy law that they claim they want to repeal.

    • Can hardly wait for one of the WH housekeeping staff to do a ‘tell-all’. Ninety percent of his time is spent ‘off the record’. Too bad the visitor logs are sealed!

      • I wonder what these meetings with cabinet people amt to. Maybe they will go over or create a decision tree on the SC ruling on the ACA, but I somehow doubt it. Oh, I don’t know… I do wonder if the president ever says, OK, what is up over at XYZ agency–what are the hot button issues, where can we save some money, which programs need to be combined or scrapped, do you have what you need for your mission. Ha ha. Kidding.

  2. I forgot to mention this – Welcome back, Keith. We’ve missed you! I hope you were able to get some time to relax a bit. Thanks for the open threads this past week.

    • I did not hear a word about golf.
Maybe he read the paper and took notes. sarc.
I mentioned that because Marcus made a good comment yesterday about Reagan reading the paper, and taking notes, than following up with discussion, and or phone calls.

    • Harv, Obummer did play golf on Saturday. No surprise there. The only interesting part is that, in addition to the usual aides he plays with, Biden was part of the foursome:

Obama includes Vice President Biden in regular golf game

POTOMAC, Md. (AP) – A surprise player has joined President Barack Obama’s regular weekend golf game: Vice President Joe Biden.

The White House says the Nos. 1 and 2 leaders of the free world teed off Saturday at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, a private golf club in Potomac, Maryland.

Two aides rounded out Obama’s foursome.

Obama usually plays with aides at when he’s at the White House. His golf party often includes bigger names when he plays away from home.

Biden was spending a rare weekend in the nation’s capital.

The vice president and his wife, Jill, usually spend weekends at their Wilmington, Delaware, home.

It was the first time he’s played golf with Biden in almost two years:

By my count, this is the 7th time @POTUS and @VP have played golf together. Last time was Aug 31, 2013 at Ft. Belvoir.

  3. Observing The One’s daily schedule for the past few months, it seems he never meets with his full Cabinet–which he should meet with once a week, one would think. That’s just good management. Is he afraid of them? Is he afraid they may question some of his actions?
