Wow, slim pickings this year. I haven’t heard of most of these “famous” people. Maybe you haven’t either.
They include: Gina Rodriguez of “Jane the Virgin” and actors Tim Daly and Tea Leoni from the CBS series “Madam Secretary,” Kerry Washington, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, Naya Rivera, Eric Stonestreet, Michelle Monaghan, Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas, Jane Fonda, Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, Brody Jenner, Johnny Weir, Tara Lipinski, actor Norman Reedus, Ava DuVernay, Chrissy Teigen, Kelly Rutherford, Gabourey Sidibe and Larry Wilmore, the host of Comedy Central’s “The Nightly Show,” among others.
Cecily Strong of Saturday Night Live is the entertainment. I haven’t noticed that she’s particularly funny.
Yes, I’m going. I haven’t for the past couple of years, but this year I will.
It’s nice, yes. But it’s really not such a big deal. I mean, it’s kind of fun to see the stars, but who cares, really? It’s very crowded. I often don’t enjoy the small talk. People sometimes seem like they want to talk to someone better. I think I’m going to tell people I write for the New York Times and see what the reaction is.
But it’s important for me to go and to try to connect with people who can help with my business, which is the business that you read.
So I’m doing it for us! And the cocktails. Also the hors d’oeuvres. God how I love hors d’oeuvres.
I’ll take some photos and give you a report.
