As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

It’s not exactly what you think.

And BTW, notice whom else he thanks. Romney is smart, but the late Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., that old Fox, was smarter. He used Romney to set in motion the process that led to the Affordable Care Act and eventually, perhaps, Kennedy’s decades-old vision of universal, single payer coverage.

  1. But wasn’t Gruber just “some guy” who attended a meeting or two?

OT…Keith, today’s “Redline” references a story about “American Sniper” but I can’t find it anywhere. What am I missing?

  2. Here’s the thing: no one wants anyone to die from a lack of decent medical care, but Obamacare doesn’t address ‘care’, only the ‘payment’ for it. Had the Dem Congress proposed government health care for the indigent in an all-encompassing form (not Medicaid that requires one to qualify) then it might have been met with approval across the US.
We know the government isn’t the best way to provide healthcare as the scandals of the VA show, but it still works for most of our veterans regardless of income.
By cramming a massive upheaval of our healthcare insurance system and healthcare itself, most Americans are feeling pushed around and ignored.
We didn’t want this, don’t want it now, and wish it would go away.

    • Two things I want to see this congress achieve,
      1) Get rid of Obamacare.
      2) Get rid of the IRS.
That will be hard to do. but, this Country will not survive unless they make major inroads into the liberal policies that are destroying this Nation.

Two years is enough time to get that done.
If they did, it could almost guarantee a change in the direction this Country is headed in.

    Can’t drive. Can’t ski. Can’t fly. Can’t commandeer a boat.
But they know best how to run the country.

  4. our city who is self insured has now created their own health clinics with free visits to employees, plus 30 minutes visits. It seems to be going really well. it is going to keep costs down on the long run as it has found several cases of undiagnosed thyroid disease, diabetes, blood pressure issues, etc…that is more “wave of the future” . Also our local Boeing plant is self insured and contracts directly with hospitals. No middle man.
