  1. It’s interesting that he’s going to Chicago on Tuesday, right before Thanksgiving. Possibly picking up friends/family to bring them back to DC for the holiday? Moochelle’s mother, who has been rumored to have moved back to Chicago, (according to what I’ve read here), is already in DC right now. I just posted some tweets with photos in the Sunday open thread. Mooch, her mom, and the younger daughter were all at American University tonight for the women’s basketball game against Mooch’s alma mater, Princeton. They posed for photos backstage at half time (some of my posts are still in moderation).

Schedule for the Week of November 24, 2014

On Monday, the President will present nineteen recipients the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors. The First Lady will also attend.

On Tuesday, the President will travel to the Chicago, Illinois area to meet with community leaders and discuss the executive actions he is taking to fix our broken immigration system.

As the President said last night, his Immigration Accountability Executive actions will help secure the border, hold nearly 5 million undocumented immigrants accountable and ensure that everyone plays by the same rules. They will also continue our commitment as Americans to an ideal– that all of us are created equal, and all of us have the chance to make of our lives what we will.

The President looks forward to speaking to a diverse group of leaders in his hometown on Tuesday, and to continuing to discuss his actions with communities and Americans across the country.

Following these events, the President will return to Washington, D.C. Further details about the President’s travel to Illinois will be made available in the coming days.

On Wednesday, the President will pardon the National Thanksgiving Turkey at the White House.

On Thursday, the President will celebrate Thanksgiving at the White House. There are no public events scheduled.

On Friday, the President has no public events scheduled.

  2. I’m so sick and tired of his circus show that he takes on the road all the time. Six long years of this and two more to go. It looks like he’ll be on the road pushing his amnesty scam for the next few weeks, and then I’m sure he’ll start it up again when he gets back from Hawaii in January.

Obama to Chicago on Tuesday to boost immigration executive order

WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama comes home to Chicago on Tuesday as part of what will be aggresive sales job to win public support for bypassing Congress and issuing immigration executive orders to save millions from deportation.

A White House official said in an e-mail, “On Tuesday, November 25, the President will travel to the Chicago, Illinois area to meet with members of the community and discuss the executive actions he iss taking to fix our broken immigration system. Following these events, the President will return to Washington, D.C. Further details about the President’s travel to Illinois will be made available in the coming days.”

Chicago is extremely friendly turf for Obama. Mayor Rahm Emanuel, his former chief of staff – up for re-election next year – has put in place a variety of policies making the city open and not hostile to illegal immigrants.

Obama is signing his executive orders today at a high school in Las Vegas and Rep. Luis Gutierrez D-Ill., a national leader on immigration reform, is flying to Nevada with the president on Air Force One.

Gutierrez and Emanuel have been working together with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (www.icirr.org), and other immigration leaders to provide information to implement the anticiapted new rules. The two, with Sen. Dick Durbin D-Ill. will be at the Benito Juarez High School on Saturday to help launch the “Illinois is Ready” (www.ilisready.org) drive

      • Wanna bet he sues for joint custody of AF1 before he leaves?
Wish we could sue him for his Billion $$ pleasure-seeking trips.
When he told the Chinese students that ‘in my country, everyone just complains’ – I wanted to slug him!

        • Somewhere today, I saw a header of him complain’ that Americans prefer a new car smell. I can only assume he’s deduced from the midterms that we think he STINKS.

          Damn, he finally got it!

          • Some us thought he was jabbing Hillary Clinton. He said something about people liking a new car smell and not an old car with a lot of mileage on it. It’s somewhere on the last thread.

President Barack Obama says voters want a “new car smell” in the 2016 White House race and that Hillary Rodham Clinton would be “a great president.”

In a nationally televised interview broadcast Sunday, Obama seemed to suggest that any Democrat other than him would provide the turn of the page that he says voters are interested in. He acknowledged the “dings” to his own political standing during nearly six years of sometimes bruising battles with Congress and said Americans will want something new.

“They want to drive something off the lot that doesn’t have as much mileage as me,” Obama said in the interview with ABC’s “This Week,” which was taped Friday in Las Vegas following a public appearance there by the president.

          • Weird….as I was reading the quote, Fox played the sound bite of Obama saying that….so I read along as he was speaking.

Also a strategist said that was the most passive aggressive endorsement he’s ever heard. LOL !

To get the nomination Hillary’s going to have to agree with everything Obama’s done, but she won’t win the election. Jim Webb’s looking better and better for the Dems.

      • Yes, I read about the India trip the other day. This will be Obummer’s second trip to India. One article said it will be the first time a US President visits India twice while in office.

It looks like will be near the end of January:

        http://news.yahoo.com/obama-visit-india-january-white-house-160353383.html

Earnest did not give a precise date for the trip, but Republic Day commemorates the adoption of India’s constitution on January 26, 1950.

The White House said Obama would be the first US president to attend India’s Republic Day celebration.

        (snip)

India’s Republic Day is marked by a massive, colorful parade in New Delhi that celebrates the South Asian country’s ethnic diversity — and offers it a chance to display its military hardware.

Each year, India hosts the leader of a foreign country as guest of honor for the parade.

In recent years, guests have included Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Meanwhile, a White House press aide said Friday Obama had made a call to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of India’s great rival Pakistan.

“President Obama and Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed the valued relationship between the two countries and the importance of the US-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue as a framework for guiding the bilateral relationship,” Eric Schultz said.

The call follows recent skirmishes between Pakistani and Indian troops in disputed Kashmir, which both countries administer in part but both claim in full.

    • Oh yea — Louie gets to ride on the big shiny plane. Surprised AF1 not repainted yet red, white and green — and that the Presidential Seal has not yet been altered to reflect our new El Presidente.

Chicago will be a mini California in no time. When the African American Community is finished slaughtering the innocents and not so innocent will there be a new turf war?

I truly would like to see exactly how many of Louie’s constituents that voted for him are legal to vote.

        • Actually, we will be paying for three more Hawaiian vacations – 2014, 2015, 2016. I doubt he will have the decency to skip it in 2016 after the election. He certainly won’t need the vacation as his permanent vacation will start on January 20, 2017, just weeks after they would be returning from Hawaii. We shouldn’t have to foot the bill for another hugely expensive vacation right before he leaves office, but I’m sure the O’s wii do it anyway.

  3. Stop the presses and read this release.

The University of Memphis’ Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) program can now boast D.C. appointments in the Obama Administration for three of its 2014 graduates.

Fatima Noor is now a special assistant in the Office of the Director for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security.

Chimene Okere has begun work as a special assistant in the Office of Capital Access at the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Taylor Dodd is a confidential assistant to the director of the Department of the Treasury.
They will work in the Obama administration until January 2017.

  4. The Ferguson grand jury timing looks to me like it has WH fingerprints all over it. They’ll come to a conclusion the the WH says they’ve concluded.

  5. Report by the U.S. House of Representative Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSC), concluded that “the CIA ensured sufficient security for CIA facilities in Benghazi” and that “appropriate U.S. personnel made resonable tactical decisions that night.” The committee “foound no evidence that there was either a stand down order or a denial of available air support.”
Kris Paronto response: So this BS report came out….I don’t think these weak congressman understand our resolve…I promise I will bring them all down!!! “We were told to stand down. We were delayed for approximatley 27 minutes on our compound,” he said. “We do not know that the stand down orders and the waits and the delays came from Libya. Came from chief of station, cheif of base. Whether it came from anybody higher, we don’t answer that, We don’t know. And we’d like to know, but have no idea.”

  6. TG messages from this administration of perpetual adolescents will undoubtedly be full of welcome and thanksgiving for the new Americans aka illegal aliens — and we will be lucky to have them delivered in English — although quite frankly I think every announcement from the Administration should be in Spanish only — I am pretty sick of listening to this bunch anyway.

Biden especially is fond of calling them Americans.

  7. I can live with all of them considering Obama’s left wing bent. The politicians are expected and there’s some really deserving artists and writers, but BROKAW?
Give me a break. He started as a hack at TODAY, moved to the anchor desk where he propped up the DNC propaganda for over 20 years and now just doesn’t know when to go away. For a kid who grew up in South Dakota he’s anything but someone we here in fly over country see as worth of the nations highest civilian honor.

    • And I never bought his greatest generation thing, either. I spent my career writing about scientists, medical breakthroughs, incredible achievements–while he trashed the Boomers and revered the previous generation. Yes, they were noble in fighting the great wars, but they had a more set society to return to, people knew what was expected, their was a country to be built, room for optimism…not like now.

  8. We have an extension on the deal in Iran. What is wrong with Kerry and the others there? NO. NO. NO.
    Does that sound professional enough?
They have 19,000 centrifuses as it is.
Kerry will hold a press confrence at 9:00 central time.

    • Obama and Kerry won’t stand for America on illegal immigration they sure as heck aren’t going to do the really tough job of standing against Iran getting a nuke. They’re just pushing it down the road so Israel will eventually be forced to act and then they’ll join the anti-semitic crowd in denouncing its unilateral action.
Considering how many liberals write the history these days I doubt the books will label this administration one of the worst in history, but the future generations that will have to live under the damage done will live and breath it every single day of their existence.

  9. Biden’s Hotel Bill for Turkey Visit: $625K

    7:01 AM, Nov 24, 2014 • By JERYL BIER

Vice President Joe Biden just returned Sunday from a three-nation trip that concluded with a 48 hour visit to Turkey. The vice president, his wife, and his entourage arrived in Turkey via Ukraine Friday evening around 7:30 local time for meetings with President Erdogan and other government officials. Biden departed for Washington, D.C. Sunday after meeting with Patriarch Bartholomew of the Eastern Orthodox Church. The stay in Turkey alone racked up a hotel bill of approximately $624,734.

The notice of the hotel contract was posted online uncharacteristically quickly, appearing on the very day of Biden’s departure from Turkey. The documents called for 200 rooms and one large conference room at the Hilton Harbiye in Istanbul:

Numerous other hotels were considered but not deemed suitable due to various reasons including lack of sufficient rooms, distance from planned events, and even ongoing renovations at one facility.

Documents related to lodging for the the Moroccan and Ukrainian legs of Biden’s trip have not yet been posted.

    • How on earth could he need 200 hotel rooms? Who are these guests and why were they on this junket?

Then again, why did barry need to fly to LV to make his 15 minute announcement when a simple White House broadcast would do?

And now he is going to visit his buddies in the homeland for no apparent reason. But on the bright side, if Rahm loves illegals so much, we know where to bus them from now on.

  10. OT—–Chuck Hagel is resigning, getting fired, moved aside–not sure how O’Bummer will describe it. Should be an interesting dance to watch.

    • By choice? Hard to imagine Obama can find anyone else of lesser competence and more inclined to bow and scrape.

I would like to think if Hagel is resigning it is a matter of honor — can’t quite get there from here though.

Anything having to do with the military is problematic with El Presidente.

      • I think it a stick in the eye of the senate.
The senate has threatened Obama that they will not confirm any of his appointees unless it concerns National Defense.
        Well,…..what have we here ?
This is the third defense secretary that has resigned, (or asked to resign) during the Obama reign.
        Baker,..Panetta, and now Hagel.
