As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

The Obama Morning News || November 18, 2014

Obama stakes final two years on climate change . . . With just two years left in power, President Barack Obama is elevating his efforts to combat global warming as he seeks to leave an imprint on the world that will endure after he’s gone. It’s a strategy rooted not only in Obama’s long-stated support for such efforts, but also in political reality.

Although Obama has long sought to rally action against climate change, White House aides say the issue has become even more attractive after the election because it’s one where Obama has considerable leverage to act without Congress. Associated Press

Gruber said Obama’s promises were false . . . “I know zero credible evidence to support that conclusion,” Gruber told the non-partisan FactCheck.org in Feb. 2008 about proposals offered by Obama and his Democratic challenger at the time, Hillary Clinton. Clinton claimed that her plan — which, unlike Obama’s, included the individual mandate — would save the average American family $2,200 per year. Obama said the plan would save families $2,500. Daily Caller

Paul wants our money back . . . “The one thing we can do is that this Mr. Gruber, this Jonathan Gruber, he was paid and now he’s admitted he was deceptive and deceitful, I’m going to ask for an investigation from the investigator general and ask that he return his pay,” said Sen. Rand Paul. Daily Caller

Illegals to get benefits under Obama plan . . . Illegal aliens who get Obama’s likely forthcoming executive amnesty will have immediate access to welfare and other public benefits, according to a new report from the Federation of American Immigration Reform (FAIR). “Obama’s executive amnesty isn’t only unconstitutional but costly; from day one it opens up federal  and state benefits to individuals who are still illegal aliens, regardless of the label the President puts on them,” FAIR executive director Julie Kirchner told Breitbart News.

Obama net neutrality plan would cause new tax . . . Internet users would be forced to pay a new federal tax on their monthly bills if the government approves regulations recently endorsed by President Obama, a member of the Federal Communications Commission predicts. Fox News

USDA misspent $2.4B on Food Stamps . . . The Office of Inspector General said the government has been building up the food “safety net” for decades, adding programs so that now one in four Americans now receive federal food assistance. Free Beacon

Christie has shed at least 100 pounds . . . a doctor who was shown before and after pictures of the potential Republican presidential candidate – once an estimated 200 pounds overweight – believes he has shed at least half of those excess pounds. Daily Mail

Christie to GOP: Compromise . . . Making a rare Capitol Hill appearance, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Monday encouraged the GOP’s newest members of Congress to embrace compromise and common ground as they shift to a governing role following their party’s midterm rout. Associated Press

      • New Jersey is still a cesspool of corruption and budget deficits. Christie has as much a chance of becoming President as I do.
For years the colonists tried to “compromise” with King George the III and to negotiate in good faith. The King refused and early one April morning the colonists responded at the Old North Bridge.
The choice before us today is the same as it was 240 years ago: Fall in line or form at the bridge.
I don’t know about you, but I hate lines.

        • Actually I don’t know if Democrats have ever compromised. It’s always the conservatives caving and allowing more spending and more government but just not as much as Dems originally wanted.
The most critical thing at this point though is passing legislation to reign in the administrative regulatory complex. Something along the lines of before regulations to into effect and take the force of law they must be voted on by Congress. Time to put the power back into the people’s representatives rather than the one man office of the Presidency. And that goes for BOTH parties.

    • I don’t know where you live, Geoff, but I’ll hazard a guess that if you look out your window this morning, you will see no evidence of global warming. The town in Central Oregon where I live had a record low of -19 Sunday night, and we received 2 feet of snow within 48 hours last week. Unheard of in mid November.

      • Southwest MO and while we’re cold with a light dusting of snow from Sunday it’s a tropical paradise compared to what you’ve got up there.
As all of us with brains know, the climate change hoax is just the Grubering of science for political gain.
FWIW it better warm up up there by summer as I think I’ve got a conference in Bend next year. lol

      • I usually am still wearing shorts at this time. I had to dig out fluffy socks, pajama pants, sweater, just to wear in the house, with the heater on. As far as the 3 billion, has anyone seen a detailed sheet of how/where this money is going?

  1. The LIES of Harry Reid the Senile have been exposed!

As the Democrats blame the GOP House for not passing the Senate passed immigration law, there is a good reason the House has not taken it up.

Senate Democrats keep own immigration bill from House, urge Obama executive action

Measure yet to be sent to lower chamber for vote as president weighs amnesty order

Senate Democrats say Republicans could head off President Obama’s immigration plans by passing the Senate’s own immigration bill — the only problem is the Democrats still haven’t sent the measure to the House for a vote.

Known as S.744, the 1,200-page bill has been bottled up by Majority Leader Harry Reid,
Nevada Democrat, in a bit of legislative gamesmanship that has clouded
much of the debate over the past two years. Now, that bill has become
the centerpiece of last-minute chiding as Democrats say they have
exhausted all alternatives except for having Mr. Obama go it alone.

  2. I was thinking about getting the extention cord, and carrying my computer outside to read more about the Climate Change article.
    It is freezing outside!
As far as the 3 Billion, THAT (HE) PLEDGED, How much of that money is going to be taken from him? He wants to help poorer Countries, Our Country is traveling downward, and he wants to pledge $. We do not make hardly anything anymore. Jobs are ourtsourced, etc.

  3. Start holding your breath now–you will be fine when Grubber gives back the dough, which should be any second.

As for bariatric surg–they say patients lose about 75% of the amt they were over–so he is at 50%.

  4. Obama’s amnesty will give illegals immediate access to welfare, Obamacare, and public benefits! If the GOP doesn’t put a stop to Obama’s criminal activity (grand theft larceny) and dissolution of our sovereignty, we need to pick up our pitchforks and torches.

The millions of illegals will still be ‘illegal’, regardless of what name he puts on it. He had the gall to say the next administration can undo the amnesty, but for the next two years – his EO will remain in effect. IS HE INSANE? He is committing an illegal act!

He should be impeached for allowing 90,000 invaders from C.A. to jump our border. They were all rewarded with instantaneous benefits – CASH, welfare, and Obamacare! As soon as the ink is dry on his EO, he should be put under arrest and hauled off to FED prison to await trial!

  5. Having failed, unintentionally or on purpose, to combat the expansion and growing threat of IS the Islamofascists…..Obama is now trying to combat climate change. How many troops is he going to commit to the fight on global warming. Democrats are either insane or evil, I can’t decide which.

  6. When I applied for permanent residency (green card); I spent about $5,000 on an attorney and my husband and I had to provide financial documentation, and health records to prove that I would not be a burden on the country. I have spent the last 15 years educating other people’s children in the field of education and have made my contribution to society. Now, these people will be getting welfare immediately? Can a democrat out there explain to me, besides worth a vote to the democrat party, what are these immigrants contributing to American society??

    • Yes, I used to prepare immigrants–and they were all Latinos–for the citizenship interview and test. In my experience, they all had to pay about $2 thousand for their permanent residency card and close to $1 thousand for the interview and test.

  7. Before he retired, my husband worked in a private industry company that dealt with the federal government. He said most federal contracts nowadays state that if there is any fraud or deception, the government can get its money back.

Fat chance that will happen with Gruber.
