.@suze109 It is, actually. At same point in GWBush presidency, he had held 38 Cabinet meetings.
    8:26 PM – 6 Nov 2014

  2. I wonder why this afternoon event was left off the official schedule:

Pres Obama also tapes a Friday afternoon interview with @bobschieffer to air Sunday on 60th Anniversary of @FaceTheNation.

  3. I have to tell you about another president, president Mujica in Uruguay. He is often called ” the poorest president in the world”. Well, Mujica is 79 years old, lives in an ordinary house, drives an old Volkswagen from 1987. He is, of course, immensely popular. This is one of these utterly rare politicians who live the way they preach. And he has humour. When asked why he didn´t want to live in the presidential palace he said that he wants to live like his citizens lives, that it is other presidents who are odd when they want to live like emperors on the taxpayers money. He also thought it was an advantage to live in his little house as he was an old man who needed to visit the bathroom several times at night. He could now just hop up and go in his underpants. No butlers around.
People like him make me hopeful about humanity. Well, what do you say, any similarities with Barry ?

  4. 12:40 is a rude time, I’m sure designed by our thoughtful president. Why not have a long dinner, with drinks and toasts?

And I sure he will stroll in late, pretending he is some nobleman.

    • Such a dinner would entail inviting the spouses of the guests which require planning to ensure that the spouses were available, that the couples with kids could get babysitters. Also, it would be much more expensive, and the purposes of this lunch would not be appropriate to discuss in that setting.

    • If I were one of those Republicans, I wouldn’t want to be seen as too chummy with Obama. That probably goes for any Democrat who wants to stay in DC beyond 2016 also.

    • Obama’s isolation (not sure what else to call it) from other power brokers in Congress and DC is one of the strangest characteristics of his administration. Sure, he has parties with people around him, but in terms of people with whom he is open, honest, vulnerable and candid, the circle is very, very small. Odd.duck, that Obama.

  5. It just says they’re meeting in the Old Family dining room, not that lunch is being served. Regardless, I hope dessert is a big slice of humble pie.

  6. Opened the RedLine e-mail Keith and easily understood the typo on Osama, it could happen to anyone.
Hope DOJ, IRS, NIA, CIA , BLM ,DOHEW etc. understand.
    O:-)

  7. What’s to discuss at this ‘working’ lunch? Obama’s two burning desires for his legacy are amnesty for 20-30M illegals, and a partnership with Iran.
The groveling supplicant has sent FOUR secret letters to the Supreme Leader, none of which have been answered. Wonder if the DNC spokesman, Brian Williams, has made mention of this, lol.

  8. OT: Boehner used a couple of sentences: Don’t play with matches and poisen the well.
Can anyone think of some great other phrases from years back that can be used at todays meeting?

  9. Keith,

Can I make a request?? Can you ask Josh Earnest whether the chairs will be facing the table or facing outwards at today’s lunch? LOL

I wonder if the White House Protocol Etiquette Office will use the same protocol when they met and dined when Netanyahu visited years ago. If you recall Obama staffed him out and then went to the residence to eat with Michelle and the girls or Reggie depending on which date night it was……….

    • You must be referring to the White House Protocol Etiquette Office under the auspices of Valerie Jarrett. The same Valerie Jarrett who mistook a decorated army General for a waiter at the Alfalfa Dinner a few years ago? As he passed the head table, she held out her empty wine glass and demanded ..”More wine, Garcon”~

  10. Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

  11. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  12. I’d like to thank you for the efforts you have put in penning this website.
I am hoping to check out the same high-grade blog posts from you later on as well.
In truth, your creative writing abilities has motivated me to get
my own, personal blog now ;)
