President Obama’s upcoming unilateral legalization of millions of illegal immigrants is not just about amnesty, changing the culture, encouraging future illegal immigration, and so forth.
It’s about who will be president in 2016. It’s about creating a massive new population of potential Democratic voters for shady operators on the left to target.
But wait a second. These people can’t vote, you say. They’ll just be legal residents. It takes years to become a citizen! And only citizens vote.
According to a study by two researchers at Old Dominion University, approximately 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in in 2008, and 2.2 percent voted in 2010. And of course, non-citizens vote overwhelmingly Democratic.
Think of it this way. The number is more than enough to have swung the 2008 Minnesota Senate election to Democrat Al Franken, who won by 312 votes. If Franken had lost, Obama would not have had the 50th vote he needed to pass Obamacare.
This is serious stuff.
Let’s say Obama, as many reports suggest, gives legal status to 4 million illegals. That could mean another 240,000 illegal votes in 2016 – 6.4 percent of 4 million – most of them for Democrats.
Can you say Florida recount? Such a number could swing a critical state to the Democratic nominee.
According to Fox News, non-citizens end up voting because, once they are legal residents, they can go get a driver’s license, as stipulated by the 1993 federal Motor Voter Act. That’s where the problem starts:
In some states, the driver’s license and voter registration application are on the same form, and the applicant simply signs. In small print, the form says applicants acknowledge they are U.S. citizens. In other states, voter registration is a separate form and applicants check a box.
In either case, once signed, the forms are automatically sent to the county or state registrar of voters, and the name is added to voter rolls. State DMV officials are not required to authenticate citizenship.
Non-citizen voting is already pervasive:
The problem came to light recently in North Carolina, which compared its voter rolls against a federal immigration database. The cross-check of 10,000 voters found 1,425 likely non-citizen voters, including 109 illegal immigrants or so-called “Dreamers.”
As you can see, Republican efforts to require photo IDs to vote won’t solve the problem, because these people have photo IDs.
ONLY FOUR STATES REQUIRE PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP TO REGISTER TO VOTE: Kansas, Arizona, Georgia and Alabama. The only solutions are for more to require proof – try getting that through the legislature without being tagged as racist – or for states to purge non-citizens from the voter rolls by comparing their list to a federal immigration database. Virginia, Iowa, and Florida tried this, but the ACLU put a stop to it.
Some non-citizens will knowingly vote illegally for the Party promising them future legalization and lots of free stuff while they wait. Others innocently think that, since they’re here legally, they can vote.
Either way, Democratic operatives herding them to the polls won’t be requiring proof of citizenship either.
