As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

No Strategy to Counter ISIS Propaganda in the U.S.

Always a day late and a buck short with this White House. And the buck is always getting passed to someone else.

Obama talks on the phone
Okay, sure, maybe I'm a dollar short, but I'm actually a day early.

Once again, the president who promised to fundamentally transform America into a land more reliant than ever on government has done more than any previous president to prove government’s shortcomings.

This White House at its highest levels has been incompetent, too busy paying attention to politics, or just not paying attention at all.

The latest bureaucracy failure is a project that, say, compared to making sure everyone from college gals to 86-year old male lepers has access to free birth control, should have been a relatively easy task.

According to an article today by former Senate Homeland Security Chairman Joseph Lieberman and Christian Beckner, the deputy director of the Homeland Security Policy Institute at the George Washington University, the Obama administration has no strategy in place to counter the sophisticated online propaganda ISIS is directing at Americans in order to mint new, home-grown terrorists here in the United States.

Even though a strategy has been promised for years. From the piece:

In December 2011, the Obama administration said it would develop such a strategy. The White House rolled out the Strategic Implementation Plan for Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), which promised that the administration “will develop a separate strategy focused on CVE online.”

In 2012, administration officials told Congress on several occasions that they were on the case. In April 2012, then-White House Homeland Security Advisor John Brennan sent a letter to Sen. Joseph Lieberman (one of the authors here), noting that “this issue is of such importance that it warrants a ‘separate, more comprehensive strategy,’ which we are developing.”

In September 2012, Janet Napolitano, DHS secretary at the time, said that “interagency partners are currently developing a strategy around countering violent extremism online” and that the “strategy focuses on leveraging Internet safety principles to protect communities from violent extremist propaganda.”

Two years, later, no strategy.

In February 2013, the White House did a blog post trumpeting the establishment of a new “Interagency Working Group to Counter Online Radicalization to Violence” that would address the issue. Sounds like just the type of thing that really gets stuff done!

“There is no evidence that this new Interagency Working Group has done anything since the release of the blog post,” write Lieberman and Beckner.

Hopefully there will be another blog post. I mean, it’s time to start getting serious.

Maybe a Tweet? #dontgoislamist.

  1. Oh but they do have a strategy! Its called Terrorism denial. You see its never that word , its only work place violence.
Chop off a few heads, shoot some military on base, why that’s only a disgruntled employee just acting out.
Their is no terrorist activity here at all………
Mr Obola has our backs. We don’t need no stinking guns, he will protect us, and if we get killed, we should have been nicer to the bearded guy yelling Islamic slogans.

  2. Unfortunately, until a terrorist manages to strike down something/someone the Left values there will be no outrage, nothing will be done.

I wish this on no one.

What’s in the news? Ferguson. What’s not in the news? The beheading of that working grandmother in Oklahoma.

    • but the Left “luvs” terrorists (look at history and who the Left supports)… and their socialist-marxist-communist-left wing-liberal-democrat “values”

  3. The Islamofascists helping Obama to fundamentally transform America, one jihadist at a time. God deliver us from these psychotic, incompetent boobs.

  4. Of course there’s no strategy. This administration has insisted from its inception that Islam is the Religion of Peace and has done everything it can to hamper our efforts to wage war, both on the battlefield and in the marketplace of ideas. Holder’s departing shot against us is his prohibition against investigating what’s going on in mosques.

  5. No online strategy to counter ISIS…?

YET… the Obama regime knows how to shut-down & counter anything online coming from the Tea Party or true Conservatives…
    (re: IRS scandal)
(re: biased, sycophants in the “main stream media”)

  6. Several times in the last 24 hours I have heard comments made of the mayor of N.Y. CUTTING THE FUNDING OF NYPD THINK TANK on the matter of investigating lone wolves are major plans of evil. No stragey has Keith pointed out. When are people going to get docked, fired for not completing their job. If not fired, why isn’t someone on the news right now apologizing, explaining themselves to the citizens that pay their salaries?

  7. There is no extremist violence and no extremism. There is only Islam. Normative, off the shelf Islam as Moe preached and practiced it. A few clues for you:
    3:151, 8:12,39,57,60,65,67, 9:5,29,38, 39,111,120,123, 33:26,27, 47:4,49:15, 59:2,13, 61:10-13; Sahih Bukhari 1.7.331 & 4.52.220.

The key to countering Islam is presented to us in page 60 of Brig. S.K. Malik’s “The Quranic Concept of War”: destroy their Iman, we can not win without causing them to cease believing in Allah, his imperatives, threat & promise.

Begin by dramatizing “The Life of Muhammad” in a full length feature film and giving it free world wide distribution. Show the Ummah the disgusting reality of the demon they worship and the Profiteer they emulate.
