As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Why Obama’s Remarks Hardly Matter

Well, President Obama finally got serious about the downed civilian airplane. But this president cannot be taken too seriously, unfortunately.

Fox News digital politics editor Chris Stirewalt Thursday passionately described a key reason why Obama is unable to make authoritative statements anymore, noting that a president who is always trying to throw PR bling at the country gets lots of attention but entirely dilutes himself.

Obama of course starts out rather diluted to begin with. And his constant appearances are often goofy or demeaningly political. And then there’s the matter of his failed policies, indecision and empty threats.

But I digress.

According to Stirewalt:

His endless talking, his endless  fundraising, his endless effort to control every fifteen minutes of every news cycle saps him of the ability to  speak with authority and resolution when he needs to.

This president is not only spent – he’s sick of the job – but he’s also broke. That is, he has spent down all his political capital – nobody wants to work with him – and he is in the process of completing what seems to one of his main projects: Totally depleting the stature of his office.

  1. Can’t argue with that. He likes being President. He just doesn’t like doing President. Nor is he qualified to do so. He has zero concept of leadership. He has no sense of team-building. He cannot discern competence in others. And he surrounds himself with the type of people who will guarantee that he is always the smartest person in the room, which is actually quite difficult when you think about it.

This man has no empathy for others, no regard for the future of this nation, and no humility whatsoever. The sooner he is out of office, the sooner the world can begin to heal.

  2. “Totally depleting the stature of his office”.
It might seem that way, but we’re not sure he ever understood what that stature meant to all of us, and how he was to protect it.

Both of the Os came to the WhiteHouse not understanding how Americans felt about the Presidency, the aura of the First Lady, and the building itself. While each of them played the role of clown, TV personality, and entitled eliteist, we watched in fascinating horror as they belittled our own true legacy – the majesty of the WhiteHouse and it’s occupants.
It’s true that MrO speaks only to his minions who have never found fault with anything he’s ever said or did, while the rest of us tune him out or just refuse to watch or listen to his irritating drone.
He’s still the only one entitled to sit in the Oval Office, and more’s the shame and tragedy for all of us.

    • Agree. Even when Bush was in (I was not a fan), on 9-11, I looked to the president to frame it, describe, explain, comfort–something! Also, the president speaks for “us,”–supposedly–though this one does not seem to know that,

      • Also–with the airliner tragedy, they knew in a few minutes it was shot down–it took months to reveal what happened in Benghazi–but the CIA etc knew and said this time in a hot second.

      • LOL, that won’t happen, but we might be more inclined to listen to what he has to say if he’s not talking to us all the time.
The cheesy photo-ops don’t help either. His handlers might think it makes him more, uh, something, but all it does is show a line-jumping, elitist, phony trying to pretend he’s just “one of us”.

  3. All of the sayings we have learned over life can be applied to him at one point or another. In this case, “a day late and a dollar short” comes to mind.

  4. “Totally depleting the stature of his office.”

You took the words right out of my mouth. When you think about it, Obama does not believe America is an exceptional country. Why then would he think that the office of President is exceptional and to be treated with gravitas?
To him, POTUS is merely a tool which offers him the ability to have lots of perks and fun “stuff,” all the while he goes about the business of tearing America down.

  5. It’s obvious that the last two places on the planet Obama would rather not be are the Oval Office and the Briefing Room. He is a fish out of water. His constant peering down at his written remarks are such a distraction that most viewers simply press the ‘off’ button. As Fred Thompson said, it’s like he’s reading a police report.

He has a case of arrested development for which there is no cure. He will always be known as the community organizer who hit the proverbial jackpot. He hasn’t matured one iota in six years. Too bad his academic records are sealed, as well as everything else in his previous life. He got away with the biggest con job in political history using nothing but a teleprompter and a flash-bulb smile. And he will walk away from the scene of the crime with bagfuls of ill-gotten booty.

Had to laugh. This morning Mark Steyn referred to Obama as the ‘Coyote-in-Chief’. Would love to see SNL do a wordplay skit on ‘CIC with Obama as Wiley Coyote down on the border herding the illegals into the country.

  6. The Obamas and the Clintons seem to lack a sense, a lifestyle, of virtue, in the classical sense (as do many others in our political world or Washington DC). This is what causes us shake our head at the behavior of these people. Here is a list of virtues every Roman citizen was taught to aspire to. They expected their politicians and leaders to also aspire to this list of virtues.

Auctoritas: “Spiritual Authority” The sense of one’s social standing, built up through experience, Pietas, and Industria.

Comitas: “Humor” Ease of manner, courtesy, openness, and friendliness.

    Clementia: “Mercy” Mildness and gentleness.

Dignitas: “Dignity” A sense of self-worth, personal pride.

Firmitas: “Tenacity” Strength of mind, the ability to stick to one’s purpose.

Frugalitas: “Frugalness” Economy and simplicity of style, without being miserly.

Gravitas: “Gravity” A sense of the importance of the matter at hand, responsibility and earnestness.

Honestas: “Respectibility” The image that one presents as a respectable member of society.

Humanitas: “Humanity” Refinement, civilization, learning, and being cultured.

    Industria: “Industriousness” Hard work.

Pietas: “Dutifulness” More than religious piety; a respect for the natural order socially, politically, and religiously. Includes the ideas of patriotism and devotion to others.

Prudentia: “Prudence” Foresight, wisdom, and personal discretion.

    Salubritas: “Wholesomeness” Health and cleanliness.

    Severitas: “Sternness” Gravity, self-control.

Veritas: “Truthfulness” Honesty in dealing with others.

  7. Zero credibility. President Propaganda has no regard for the truth. His lies are so bad they’re laughable but at their root a disgrace to America.

    1. Benghazi was caused by a YouTube video.
    2. If you like your doctor/health plan you can keep your doctor/health plan.
    3. Lois Lerner’s emails have been recycled.

Three strikes. He’s out (or should be).

  8. Okay, this is what I’m gonna do: I am going to cut/paste/whatever this post and the comments and read it every single day until that fool is gone.
I think it does not behoove me to spit on all the Lofo jerks who voted for him, not once, but twice (especially since that category includes my sibs and prob my kids). I am practicing great restraint here.
    No rest for the Good.

    • I don’t believe the people voted for him twice. Maybe the first time he squeaked in but the second time was fraud bigtime and that means our country is not America anymore, so sad, so many of us have tears in our eyes now. Also, I am sure the military votes were not counted, they wouldn’t vote for him, they were thrown away in another country, betcha. I fear our voting will continue to be like a third world country, I have lost my faith in the voting now, I never felt this way before, I am very upset about that we won’t have an honest voting system anymore and the press will be complicit in the voting process also. What a nightmare, a nightmare that has come true.

  9. I believe that Obama believes that humanity has disappointed him by not living up to his standards for it. He doesn’t see that he was wrong, he thinks the world is.
