As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

11 Responses to Reagan’s Speech at Normandy – June 6, 1984

  1. I remember it well. Finally coming out of the Carter malaise, America feeling good about herself again, the world beginning to respect again.
I never dreamed on my darkest days that 30 years later we would have thrown it all away for a Presidential cult hell bent on making America just another name on the list of nations.

  2. This speech is so great. I was in 10th grade when he gave it, and it inspired me to learn about DDay, and WW2. Can’t help but compare Reagan to what we are dealing with now in the White House, Obama isn’t anywhere near the leader, orator, or American that Reagan was. God Bless America and the DDay veterans both alive and dead. Maybe someday we will have another President who loves America again. I can hope….

  3. Contrast the Regan speech to the Obama speech.

Riding to work this morning the radio played some of obama’s remarks, I had to hit the MUTE button ASAP! After his people trashing the military men who served with the Deserter, and the State Dept prostitute Harf claiming they have no credibility, I felt sick to my stomach on this day hearing his voice!

I never ever dreamed I would see a man like obama in the WH.

  4. Nobody did it better than Reagan his speech was priceless and more to
the point heartfelt. Makes me cry every time I hear him. Thank God for
the men of D-Day all of them.

  5. So glad #40 was our President. In spite of his flaws–and in spite of being an actor–I never doubted his patriotism.

I believe in AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM for so many reasons. I am extremely proud of our history, including the amazing story of D-Day. God, please help us through our current trials and continue to bless America!

  6. 8 months ago Obama ORDERED his team to SHUT OUT these same Veterans from visiting their OPEN AIR War Memorial in Washington DC and set up
Barrycaides just to HURT them in their long travels to DC.

Some traveled for days in wheelchairs to get there only to see the President shut them out!
