Are You Hypnotized Yet?

by Keith Koffler on April 18, 2014, 12:34 pm

You are being hypnotized. Hypnotized by White House communications specialists into thinking the debate over the Affordable Care Act is finished.

Of course, with the rationing just beginning, the employer mandate not even started yet, and costs and prices just starting to escalate, the conversation is just getting underway. But if your President Obama or a Democrat trying to get reelected, such conversation is bad for business.

Using a classic propaganda technique, the White House is trying to convince you through repetition that it’s “time to move on,” hoping to make the continuing criticism seem like superfluous nitpicking by extremist opponents.

Look at how many times the president made the point in the course of a half hour press conference Thursday. Watch the watch as it swings back and forth:

This thing is working

They still can’t bring themselves to admit that the Affordable Care Act is working.

I think we can agree that it’s well past time to move on as a country.

The point is the repeal debate is and should be over.

The Affordable Care Act is working.

The American people don’t want us spending the next two and a half years refighting the settled political battles of the last five years.

This is working for a lot of people

And my hope is, is that we start moving beyond that.

The American people would much rather see us talk about jobs

We need to move on to something else.

What I intend to talk about is what the American people are interested in hearing.

If Republicans want to spend all their time talking about repealing a law that’s working, that’s their business.

The larger issue about whether we can move past the polarization and sort of the bitter political debates between Democrats and Republicans

It’s working for a lot of folks

How about us focusing on some things that the American people really care about?

We need to move on and focus on other things that are really important to the American people right now

The Republican National Committee has its own good propagandists and they understand what the White House is up to. That’s why they produced this after Obama had finished speaking. Smart move.

I’m convinced Team Obama is going full Alinsky right now. I wait for the corporate media to catch on ;)

Even Fox worries me these days….sigh.

Darkangel April 18, 2014 at 1:51 pm

Not Alinsky.

Goebbels.

AFVet April 18, 2014 at 10:36 pm

Alinsky is already in full force, and has been since Obama took office.
The results can be seen in the MSM.
If they had been doing their jobs, Obama would NEVER have been re-elected.
The Cloward and Piven strategy.is also in play in the fact that we are being overwhelmed on a daily basis with a montage of information that we must try to sort through to find out what is pertinent.
All the while, Benghazi is still not resolved, or Fast and Furious.or the IRS scandals.
They are constantly deceiving us, just as a magician does to the audience.
There is a reason Obama no longer speaks to an assembly of random adults.
He is afraid that he will be exposed for the charlatan that he is.

Let’s try some translating…

This thing is working

NO, IT’s NOT–not even all those kicked off are resituated in some probably inferior form–and the business mandate has yet to kick in.

They still can’t bring themselves to admit that the Affordable Care Act is working.

That’s because saying that would be a lie.

I think we can agree that it’s well past time to move on as a country and refocus our energy on the issues that the American people are most concerned about

Losing their health care–yes. Concerned starts to say it.

The point is the repeal debate is and should be over.

No–it’s just the Republicans way of saying STILL SUCKS.t

The Affordable Care Act is working.

Seriously, has anyone on this list gotten some juicy plan, gone to the ER, gonme to the doc…what happened?

The American people don’t want us spending the next two and a half years refighting the settled political battles of the last five years.

Who says?

This is working for a lot of people
The American people would much rather see us talk about jobs

Now you are making stuff up.

Funny story….my husband went in for a routine colonoscopy last month, you know, as in Preventive Medicine. Just got the bill, $24,000 dollars. Thank GAWD, he’s retired military, we paid nothing. But the hospital got 24k from someone’s taxes ? In my perfect world, we’d run every human clinic like a veterinary clinic.

Star April 18, 2014 at 1:19 pm

The vets call and see how your pet is, too! Nice touch.

AZ Granny April 18, 2014 at 3:07 pm

Our vet sends us a new calendar each year. None of our doctors have ever done that.

Zephyr Dmm April 18, 2014 at 5:24 pm

Our vet and our dentist always call to check up on us. We like our dentist as he refuses to see Medicaid moochers. Keeps their office running smoothly.

Star April 19, 2014 at 12:31 pm

I don’t think it’s fair to call people on Medicaid “moochers.” Many are now being tossed onto Medicaid.

BigDave April 18, 2014 at 1:17 pm

Let’s call it what it really is. It’s a redistribution of wealth. It’s not about giving ppl better care. It’s about making sure everyone has the same crappy care & no one can get better care than anyone else. The medical device tax alone with hinder new therapies neo.g developed in the future. All to get to the end of pot care for all.

BigDave April 18, 2014 at 1:19 pm

Crappy care for all.

Mr. T. April 18, 2014 at 1:50 pm

We should start using that acronym…CCFA.

The only thing working is his mouth—-always,everywhere ,all the time

CiscoKid April 18, 2014 at 2:54 pm

“… see us talk about jobs…”
That’s all Obama can do, talk about jobs. In fact, that’s all he can do, talk. He’s best at fundraising. Actually getting people to listen and charging them big bucks.
That I really don’t understand. I can listen to him for free, but I don’t.

Mr. T. April 18, 2014 at 3:08 pm

Yeah, jobs is always a big priority. Wait…this just in…Keystone – a job creator – delayed again!

WASHINGTON (AP) – The State Department is giving federal agencies more time to review the Keystone XL pipeline before deciding whether to issue a permit.

That could push a decision about the controversial oil pipeline until after the midterm elections in November.

The State Department is citing a recent decision by a Nebraska judge that overturned a state law that allowed the pipeline’s path through the state. The State Department says that created uncertainty and ongoing litigation.

The government is not saying how much longer the review will take. But it says the process isn’t starting over.

Zephyr Dmm April 18, 2014 at 5:27 pm

We have a similar situation near Tucson, a Canadian company wants to open a copper mine & it has been going through ‘review’ for about 3 or 4 years now. . .

gracepmc April 18, 2014 at 6:04 pm

The Obama State Department under Clinton and now Kerry is a politicized arm of the Executive Branch. It no longer focuses as a diplomatic means for peace or defense of country.

Similarly DHS does not defend our borders, Defense does not enable out military to be the best, the EPA is full of punitive political corrupt actors and regulations, the IRS is a weapon against dissident citizens and a hammer against free speech, the Departments of Labor and Education are full of socialists and union thugs, and the DOJ, and now legislators advocate the non enforcement or the law. And the Majority Leader of the Senate is a thoroughly corrupt man who is protected by the law which apparently is enforceable when he calls out American citizens as domestic terrorists.

Men and women have died for this country and our freedoms. The government is supposed to protect it. This Administration spits and dances on the graves.

AZ Granny April 18, 2014 at 3:10 pm

It’s working? Six million lost their insurance and supposedly 8 million signed up (although we don’t know how many million actually paid). So where are all the other uninsured?

The Business April 19, 2014 at 1:18 am

ACA is working????

It hasnt even been fully implement yet!!!!

ImNoDhimmi April 19, 2014 at 7:36 am

” Hypnotized” is right. It reminds me of when he was speechifying about passing Obamacare. Barry kept saying, “We have to pass this bill right away!” He must have said it twenty times.

I’m surprised people don’t nod off when he goes on like this. “You are getting sleepy…..very sleeepy….”
