    • Obama is trying to use the Pope for his own purposes. He is already comparing the Pope’s comments on poverty to his plan for the ‘redistribution of wealth.’ I shall be watching carefully to see if the Pope can draw distinctions between Obama and himself.

      • Pope Francis could reduce Obama to a pile of ashes if he confronted him with his vile treatment of Catholics, in particular, the Little Nuns of Charity, with respect to Obamacare.

        • And abortion as an issue in itself. But popes in general are non-confrontational when they meet with foreign leaders. Francis in particular is the name of a peacemaker, and I don’t see him putting Obama in his place. I hope with all my heart that I am wrong, but I fear Obama will twist the interpretation of their meeting.

          • As long as any Pope continues to dispense the sacraments to the likes of Pelosi and Biden who are pro abortion in their public lives, and Dolan and others continue to allow the likes of Cuomo and others to be Catholics “in good standing” I don’t see much coming from the RCC. And I am Catholic.

Although I will note the Pope’s support in prayer of the Pro Life March in WDC while Obama still believes in late term abortion.

          • Agree…the Pope, especially this Pope, would never confront a foreign leader. Frankly, I don’t know how Barack Obama has the gall to show up at the Vatican! He has no shame. And I agree. he will twist the interpretation of their meeting. We’ll probably see him riding around town in a Barack-mobile wearing Papal vestments when he gets back.

  1. I am so glad my children are out of school!!!!!!!!!!
My two sons were both reading at age 3. The article you have posted Keith gave even more detail into the terrible way kids will be taught math and reading. Good luck all young students & parents with this new way of learning.

  2. There’s a new sheriff in town.

Very interesting day at The Washington Post. Left-wing Ezra Klein is out and the much-respected conservative legal blog, The Volokh Conspiracy, is in. Already the Jeff Bezos era is becoming an interesting one. Numerous reports claim that Bezos wasn’t interested in a multi-million dollar proposal Klein pitched, but he was apparently interested in giving Volokh full editorial control.

    • Really big news! Did Klein leave a forwarding address? MSNBC and the WH are going to sink under the weight of all the displaced journOlistas. Eugene Robinson can’t be far behind.
As I recall, Bezos stated that he wasn’t going to get involved in the editorial process at the Post. The Libertarian Volokh folks come as a complete surprise – a breath of fresh air, at last.
      (Hope the paywall comes down)

      • I hope that Bezos will let a few more go too, Robinson of course, and Dana Millbank. Frankly I think the Republican op-ed writers are RINOs too (Jennifer Rubin). At the WaPo the Democratic writers and the Republican writers are in cahoots to bring down the conservative movement.

  3. Can you imagine being in Congress, and once again there is a man who is planning to bypass you, like you did not exist. Keith I appreciate the article regarding WH exploring ways to circumvent Congress to lift sanctions on Iran.
Since O does feel he needs Congress. Maybe Congress can go stay in Hawaii for a while.

  4. “President Barack Obama is launching an initiative to combat sexual assault, particularly on college campuses, turning the spotlight on a problem that has devastated millions of Americans yet rarely receives such White House attention.”

Obamacare has devastated millions of Americans. Unemployment has devastated millions of Americans. Why doesn’t Barry focus on one issue at a time? He’s like a fly, buzzing and flitting about from one pile of crap to another.

    • I agree. Obama is already claiming that he and Pope Francis are squarely on the same page. I wonder if the Pope was not influenced by the liberation theologists in Latin America.

    • I had a whole long — probably not very good — comment. Basically, Rand Paul needs to be included in our formation. But tied with a true conservative. Paul can bring in the independents, a growing group that I am not all that impressed with. A lot of ME ME ME and not much country.
