As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama Administration to Probe Christie Scandal

New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman will investigate the closing of lanes leading to the George Washington bridge, a traffic jam-inducing move that has embroiled New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in a scandal over whether the closures were political payback.

Would this in any kind of way, remotely be, – How could I even think such a thing? – but possibly could be, an attempt by the White House to sink the leading Republican contender for President Obama’s job?

Of course not, said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.

“There’s certainly nothing that involves the White House with this issue and to the extent of any involvement of the federal government, you’d have to ask the Department of Justice,” Carney said.

Yes, let’s ask Holder, whose wife is currently vacationing with Michelle in Hawaii.

Problem is, after the apparent use of the IRS for political purposes and the repeated lying, errors, and deceptions that have come out of the White House, IT’S REALLY HARD TO BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY on a matter such as this.

A spokeswoman for Fishman suggested he was merely brought into it, asserting that the inspector general for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey “has referred the matter to us, and our office is reviewing the matter to determine whether a federal law was implicated.”

The decision comes just one day after Christie’s defeated opponent for governor, Barbara Buono, called in the Justice Department to investigate.

Nothing suspicious there. Now move along, please.

Christie, for his part, said, for the feds to bring it.

“I have absolutely nothing to hide. My instruction to everybody would be to cooperate and answer questions. We have nothing to hide and this administration has nothing to hide,” he said during his news conference today;

  1. …”IT IS REALLY HARD TO BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY”…
I say that about the “WH press corps” & “media” EVERYDAY.

How IRONIC this (Republican) Gov. Christie story is ‘blowing up’ in the “media” just a day after the Gates book & stories came out…???

SO…? Where the reporting about the Gates book today…???

  2. Well, Preezy’s NSA already has all the Christie administration’s emails and phone records so they should be able to cook up some phony fed charge. If it wasn’t for double standards, this corrupt regime wouldn’t have any standards at all.

    • (Christie did steal donuts from the University of Delaware dining halls as an undergrad…
How ironic. We know more about Christie’s time at college than “Barack Hussein Obama” at college…)

  3. Sir Golfs-a-Lot and his merry band of Ceratopogonidae will investigate Christie’s Bridgegate, but not:

    – Closing of the national parks at WH orders
    – Bengazi
    – Fast and Furious
    – The Knockout Game (unless the victim is non-white)

and so on and so on and so on.

    Nauseating!!

    • Thanks for the new word. Interesting that Ceratopogonida, aka biting midges, shed their skin 4 times throughout their life cycle. That sounds more like our phony political class than the regime’s foot soldiers. They’re more like termites eating away the spirit and soul of America.

  4. I suspect that we are all going to be fair about this — and somehow, somewhere, deep in our little conservative hearts where hope and love of country lives, tentatively consider the possibility that the media and the Dems will return the favor by hard questioning of other scandals, and improprieties regardless of which party and who.

    Ain’t gonna’ happen.

  5. Same for Va’s former Gov McDonnell, they’re not done with him yet either.

As my friend said on twitter today: The media seems to hold GOP govs at a higher standard than Dem Presidents.

    • Regarding the Obummer administration looking into the Christie scandal” I am reminded of the quote from the Bible which says, seeing the splinter in your brother’s eye, but not the log in your own, I know this is not a direct quote, but close to the situation!

  6. The woman who died after her ambulance was delayed due to the road closures enacted by New Jersey governor Chris Christie’s political allies was a mother-of-two who moved to America from Italy for a better life, it emerged today.

Florence Genova had a heart attack at her home in Fort Lee, New Jersey, on September 9 last year but her ambulance took seven minutes to get there because of the gridlock.

        • In DC, it can take the ambulance 30 min. to find your house after you call for one ~ that’s if the closest one isn’t broken down somewhere. The saying around here is that if you need transportation to the ER, crawl over the District line into MD and then call 911.

  7. And will that be like the Holder appointment of a big Obama donor investigating the IRS? I wonder why the WH is getting involved. Does Obama still owe Christie something? I wouldn’t think it would be a matter for the federal government, but as I responded to someone earlier, the case might involve the crossing of state lines.

  8. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. How would Buono know what was going on in the governor’s offices? I smell a frame up. Christie is a lot of things, but I don’t think he’s a liar.
