Michelle Obama today sent out an email making clear that NOTHING’S SACRED anymore, using the Thanksgiving holiday to raise money for President Obama’s political arm, Organizing for Action.
Titled “From out family to yours,” the missive states:
Barack and I have so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving, and that includes people like you who’ve been by our side, working for change right from the beginning.
Me? Uhh, they got the wrong guy. Unless pointing out mistakes and hypocrisies is helpful, which I guess it is. Okay, you’re welcome.
Because of your hard work, passion, and dedication, we have accomplished so much over this past year.
I have been working hard, yes. I hope Santa noticed too. Because Santa gives, not takes.
Before we all celebrate with our personal traditions tomorrow, I want to start a new one — I’m hoping that you’ll take a moment to share what you’re thankful for this year:
Uh oh. You put your message in and hit the button, and a screen pops up offering to lighten your wallet by varying amounts – up to $1,000 or some “other amount.”
A new tradition of fundraising on Thanksgiving! Heartwarming.
OFA will be gathering some of these notes and sharing them on BarackObama.com. I can’t wait to see what you have to say.
Wonder what else of mine OFA will be sharing.
Thanks so much for everything you’re doing — and from our family to yours, happy Thanksgiving.
Well thank you, Michelle. And I wish you a happy Thanksgiving too, even though you’re hitting me up for money.
Oh, and OFA also sent a gracious thank you note, of course pushing the envelope a little further.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, will you pass this on and ask your friends and family to share what they’re thankful for, too?
Just forward this link to three people right now:
In the spirit of Thanksgiving I’LL SQUEEZE MY FRIENDS FOR SOME CASH TOO! Yes, good idea.
They just can’t stop themselves. Because you see, what Barack is doing is so important, we musn’t worry about niceties.
Can’t wait for my Christmas greeting.
