Did you know that October 1 is the first Fiscal Day of 2014. Happy New Year!

Between Oct. 1, 2013, the first day of fiscal 2014, and Nov. 14—which was less than a month after Congress agreed to temporarily suspend the legal limit on the federal debt—the Treasury was forced to issue more than $1 trillion in new debt. During that time, according to the Daily Treasury Statement, the Treasury issued $1,014,215,000,000 in new bills, notes, bonds and other securities.

I’m going to slip a comment in between you and Girly1 as I agree with both of you, and I will add the constant priming of the stock market. All these things are funded by the US taxpayers, and this just can’t go on for very much longer.

Girly1 November 19, 2013 at 11:17 am

Especially b/c Washington insiders are profitting (legally) from insider info.
Obama and the DEMS also have their eye on our retirement funds – 401Ks, IRAs:

Obama caught with foot in mouth…again! The 48 y.o. single mom from Washington State who hasn’t had insurance in 15 years was touted as a great Obamacare success story at his last presser. Not so fast, Barry:

Pie in the sky campaign bribes for the Sandra Flukes and 47 percenters of the country (not to mention millions of illegal immigrants who are breeding like rabbits) are now mandatory: FREE contraceptives, breast-feeding supplies and screenings for gestational diabetes, sexually transmitted infections and domestic violence, as well as routine check-ups for breast and pelvic exams, Pap tests and prenatal care. Pediatric dentistry; substance abuse treatment.
Who else needs this stuff?? This is why our ‘old’ policies are called ‘substandard’ or ‘junk’? Sorry, it’s the absolute reverse! Has anyone in the Regime ever done a cost analysis of the ‘freebies’? I’m sure it would equal the GDP of the entire Euro Zone. The average hospital bill for child birth and neo-natal is $25K – $45K! Think ‘anchor babies’.

Worse yet, the ‘grandfathering’ rules were written by Obama himself AFTER the bill was passed, according to Rand Paul:

Star November 19, 2013 at 10:15 am

Two things struck me. First, the price you think you got may not be the price–there will be waves of corrrections. And two, she said the plan did not include prescriptions–so prescriptions are not a required element–but breat feeding supplies are? This makes no sense! I know, I keep saying that–but it doesn’t!

Lee November 19, 2013 at 8:56 am

I read an article this morning that a Federal Judge, has refused Attorney General Holderan appeal. It was posted 11-18 on Politico. I have not seen this news anywhere else this morning.

Duncan: So sorry for “moms” remarks . . . Daily Caller

Does anyone truly believe that someone in this administration speaks without the prior approval of the WH, and Jarrett? Duncan’s comments were most likely pre-approved by the WH in order to continue the divisiveness (as Keith pointed out yesterday). Now comes the apologies to correct a “misinterpretation” of what was said. But if I tell you not to think of a pink and purple elephant, the first thing you think of is a pink and purple elephant. The seed is planted in the minds of those that have issue with “white middle class” and they will run with the pink and purple elephant of Ducan’s comments, no matter how much he apologizes or explains.

Julie Brueckheimer November 19, 2013 at 9:55 am

I don’t know how one could ‘misinterpret’ the word white in ‘white middle class’. That’s about as concrete, black-and-white a word as one could use.

Susan November 19, 2013 at 9:55 am

Agree. Good to see you posting again, Shofar. Preezy’s posse is and always has been a toxic stew of radical leftists, socialists, and communists of every imaginable stripe. This Duncan fellow is just doing the bidding of his master, and he meant what he said. Looks like white, middle class suburban moms have been identified as the new target for the regime brownshirts.

“The greatest liar has his believers. If a lie be believed for only an hour it has done its work. Falsehood flies and truth comes limping after; so that when men come to be undeceived it is too late; the tale has had its effect.” ~ Ronald Reagan, “The Notes”

Lee November 19, 2013 at 10:08 am

My mom was a working mom back in the 60′s. She was very successful at work and at home as a mother. Our family chose to live in the suburbs. Not in the middle of the Big City. Yes she was white. I as well did the same as my mom. We are both white. Did not appreciate Duncan comment. I have enough to deal with and pay attention to with with this admistration. I do not have the time defending my family’s choice in these matters.
By the way my father would be furious by his comments as well if he were alive today.

Star November 19, 2013 at 11:54 am

I don’t want to geeze out into a tremendous rant–but I went to public school in the burbs of St Louis (Kirkwood) and we had 2-3 testing days a year, but this was hardly worthy of note. We learned the three Rs, we could figure a percentage, we wold think, we had couple of memorable teachers, I was in debate club, we knew the difference between evidence and proof, we knew a piece of sophistry when it bit us on the leg, I became a science writer based on Mr Piro’s biology class and fed my family that way for decades. We read books–for info, for pleasure. And darn it all–we had handwriting! Now, I would not consider my kid educated in this sense at all. I naively sent her to school–and then started the wars with teacher after teacher, school after school. This is a battlefield now! And I sure don’t want this present crowd to be shaping it.

Star November 19, 2013 at 11:56 am

PS This Duncan person should think more about what constitutes and education, rather than an indoctrination–and lay off snippy, and completely unsubstantiated remarks about parents.

Star November 19, 2013 at 11:57 am

Sorry about my “clumsy” one-eyed typing.

Girly1 November 19, 2013 at 9:22 am

Shades of 2010! General admission $1000 tkts at the SF Jazz Center fundraiser will be reduced 50%. In addition, the holders of these tkts will be moved up front to the VIP section and rope line.

What happens if Obama’s full time job – campaigning – dries up? Can he collect unemployment checks or go on disability? What are they going to do? TOTUS and Obama? Ads on Craig’s List – Have TOTUS – Will Travel? Write an autobiography: “ME and TOTUS?
How about ‘early retirement – w/o benefits!

Julie Brueckheimer November 19, 2013 at 9:59 am

Early retirement, I wish. I’d like to see things get so bad for Obama that, like Nixon, he resigns and Biden succeeds him. Then Madame Secretary would have to run against a sitting President of her own party in 2016. I would be willing to put up with Biden in office for a couple of years to achieve that scenario.

MandyManners November 19, 2013 at 9:24 am

Meanwhile, education department communications secretary Massie Ritsch doubled down on racism.

“Arne — a white suburban dad married to a white suburban mom, with two kids in public schools — has always been clear that test scores are an imperfect measure of student achievement and school quality, but tests are an indicator nonetheless,” Ritsch wrote in an email obtained by CNN. “And when that indicator conflicts with parents’ notions of their child’s abilities or their school’s quality, it’s understandable that some parents would be concerned.”

Ritsch is saying that only white folks care about their kids’ education?

BTW, are Duncan’s kids really in a public school? Where? Alexandria? Chevy Chase?

Another richie enclave.

MandyManners November 19, 2013 at 11:57 am

And about 63 per cent white.

DeniseVB November 19, 2013 at 9:27 am

JFK also snubbed the 100th anniversary of the Gettysburg address, went to Dallas instead. :(

Girly1 November 19, 2013 at 9:30 am

Dallas? Oh. My. G-d !!!

Julie Brueckheimer November 19, 2013 at 10:03 am

There was an excellent post on a site last week on 5 Myths about JFK. Not the one on WaPo! One of the myths was that he was very involved in civil rights. Not so. He was more conservative than his brother and didn’t want to offend Southern Democratic legislators, but Bobby persuaded him into taking a stand on school integration.

Julie Brueckheimer November 19, 2013 at 10:12 am

Nice list of articles, Keith. I haven’t finished reading here, but there is no need to go to RealClearPolitics today where one article on how Obamacare stinks has to be ‘balanced’ by another which says it is the greatest thing since Velveeta. I am only wanting to read things nowadays which are on the same wavelength where my brain is. Ditto with the people on WHD.

Star November 19, 2013 at 10:25 am

I still check out the other side… knew this was coming…on Morning Joe, no mention of how they knew in Mar the website would stink up the joint. F&F led with it. But…I am a little sick of the manic, excited tone of Doocy as he unveils the latest Obama truth atrocity. Calm down! Be reporter-like.

Girly1 November 19, 2013 at 10:54 am

I recorded MJ this a.m. Took all of about 12 minutes to playback the entire 3 hrs. I watched the Jeb Bush thing for a minute or two. That was it. The lead story was the Canadian mayor followed by Zimmerman. PLUS – that Katty person was anchoring – a good reason not to watch.
F&F is really becoming amateur hour. Can’t even leave it on for background noise in the a.m.
Hope something breaks in the Obama BIG LIE scandal – soon! I need to get my life back.:)

Star November 19, 2013 at 12:31 pm

I guess that wacky Toronto guy is just a squirrel–I don’t get the coverage.

Susan November 19, 2013 at 11:51 am

More Obama news. Once again he brings shame to the office he holds. This time by omitting our Creator from the words of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg address.

Darkangel November 19, 2013 at 12:53 pm

Drudge is leading with an ABC poll showing Obama in serious trouble.

It’s worse than they say it is, though. The D/R/I is 34/21/37. Meaning they over-sampled Democrats. And Obama is STILL in big trouble, even with a D+7 split.

This is getting to be hilarious. I might want to break out my “I was anti-Obama before it was cool!” T-shirt…

Lee November 19, 2013 at 4:31 pm

There is a big difference between today and years ago. I feel years ago you would see a lot of T-Shirts giving their thought of this administration. I for one do not have the nerve to do so. I can’t believe I just put that in writing. I was in the store the other day, speaking to a friend about the days news. I turned my head witout thinking. I realized what I had just done. I was making sure no one was listening.

SWFL November 19, 2013 at 6:27 pm

I slapped on my red & black “YOU LIE” bumper sticker a couple of weeks ago. Oprah has helped bring Joe Wilson’s words into the limelight — thanks Oprah. I will show is around my town but doubt I would display in the Hoods. Otherwise, Bring It On!
