WashPost: Website Won’t be Ready by Dec. 1

by Keith Koffler on November 13, 2013, 9:00 am

Government-contracted geeks are unlikely to have the Obamacare website ready to roll by December 1 as solemnly promised by the White House, yet another failure and broken promise related to the Obamacare fiasco.

Did your parents tell you not to make promises you can’t keep? Apparently the group occupying the White House didn’t have such parents.

Let me ask you a question. HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE ANYTHING THIS DAMN WHITE HOUSE SAYS, PARTICULARLY ON LIFE AND DEATH ISSUES LIKE IRAN?

From the Washington Post:

The insurance exchange is balking when more than 20,000 to 30,000 people attempt to use it at the same time — about half its intended capacity, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to disclose internal information. And CGI Federal, the main contractor that built the site, has succeeded in repairing only about six of every 10 of the defects it has addressed so far.

Government workers and technical contractors racing to repair the Web site have concluded, the official said, that the only way for large numbers of Americans to enroll in the health-care plans soon is by using other means so that the online system isn’t overburdened.

Speaking in Dallas a week ago, President Obama said that the “Web site is already better than it was at the beginning of October, and by the end of this month, we anticipate that it is going to be working the way it is supposed to, all right?”

In fact, with those taking orders on both the phone and in person also forced to use the website, people will now have to enroll via telegraph and carrier pigeon.

Thousands of pigeons are being trained this week on the mall in Washington. Federal IT workers are being tasked to clean up the bird shit.

Will President Schettino of the Costa Concordia of HHS Healthcare be jumping ship?

They’ll just play with the words again, Baghdad Jay will pop off his high chair and climb up on his soapbox with his sneer and tortoise shell frames and exclaim that ready didn’t mean completely ready just ready enough.

The merging of the continued failures with this program, the upcoming budget deadlines and the expiration of the debt limit should make for an interesting December.

Sigh. So the master plan is to take something really bad, throw more money at it until it is 100 times worse, and it still won’t work. Anyone see the article about some 20 yr olds in California who made an alternative website? One where you put in your zip code, it tells you what plans are available, BeFore you input all your personal info. Sounds too logical for anyone in guv’ment to use it.

And money keeps flowing from the taxpayers. Wonder how much a “rush” order like this is costing us? This thing is canceling middle class insurance plans, taking our money to throw at the problem, then taxing us in the spring?

I hear there’s a problem with wild Mustangs on the western plains. Perhaps we could bring back the Pony Express.
It’d be a liberal twofer: The horses get saved from slaughter and the horse’s a$$ in the Oval gets his precious Obamacare saved.

The current white house staffers were raised by a “village”. One of them by the villiage “idiot”. The panel’s life or death decision on your surgery should be made soon!

you are the baby and you and your bathwater of lies should both be

It’s all going according to the utopian master plan. The website was never meant to work. If enrollment worked as described there wouldn’t be any chaos, and people wouldn’t be clamoring for the statists to fix the disaster they themselves created.

To understand these masterminds who are imposing tyranny through Obamacare, we need to understand Utopianism:

“Utopianism substitutes glorious predictions and unachievable promises for knowledge, science, and reason, while laying claim to them all. Yet there is nothing new in deception disguised as hope and nothing original in abstraction framed as progress. A heavenly society is said to be within reach if only the individual surrenders more of his liberty and being for the general good, meaning the good as prescribed by the state. If he refuses, he will be tormented and ultimately coerced into compliance, for conformity is essential.” ~ Mark Levin, “Ameritopia”

@Susan, seems we have the same thoughts, just expressed differently.
If their goal is to provide a government single-payer system, they sure picked a lousy way to inspire confidence it can be done.

Susan November 13, 2013 at 10:19 am

The way I see it, they don’t want to inspire confidence, srdem. They want to control us by removing all avenues of escape from their tyranny. I do believe the masterminds bit off more than they can chew, because there are a whole lot of us Americans across the fruited plains who would rather die on our feet, rather than live on our knees.

I’m just glad that this is happening before the 2014 elections.
It could help us out a lot, unless voter fraud takes over.

Democrats can’t win elections without fraud and deception, so that is a given. We learned from James O’Keefe’s navigator expose that the ACORN-rebranded Enroll America is sharing enrollee information with Preezy’s Battleground Texas, which is “dedicated to turning Texas blue”. Of course this is illegal, but it won’t stop the Democrats. We conservatives have to fight fire with fire, by enlisting as many patriots as possible to combat their deceptive lies.

Aileen,…My wife is a registered Democrat, I am a registered Republican.
In Ohio, you can vote for either candidate in a general election.
In a primary, you can only vote your party.
In answer to your question, I don’t know.
It may depend on the states.

Girly1 November 13, 2013 at 1:44 pm

AFVet, voter fraud is already taking place in Texas with the ACORN navigators. James O’Keefe’s ‘Project Veritas’ features one navigator stating that they won’t be leaving the state of Texas until after 2016. The field of untapped illegals/hispanics is their’s for the taking. Obama’s burning ambition is to turn Texas a very dark blue.

AFVet November 13, 2013 at 3:23 pm

“turn Texas a very dark blue.”
His arrogance is his Achilles heel.
His arrogance is blinding him to the will of the American People that are seeing through his charade.
He is willing to push his agenda until somebody stops him.
Who will that be ?
Congress ?
Supreme Court ?
So what if one of them do, what then ?
He doesn’t give a hoot what we think.
We need to enlighten him as to the power of the American People.
That goes for the congress to.

Tin foil hat time.
The IT firm tasked with building the website for Obamacare would have to be massively incompetent to put out a mess that can’t even handle 50K hits a day.
Millions of families losing their current health insurance plans are not “unintended” consequences unseen or unexpected.
MrObama knew, yes he did, that it would be impossible for insurance companies to keep offering existing plans because of the mandates in the law.

So, who benefits, where’s the up-side. Very curious.
We haven’t seen everything yet.

It’s been pointed out elsewhere that one of the senior vice presidents of CGI Federal was a college classmate of Mouchelle.

And standing up the website is the easy part.

This is just a symptom of a disengaged administration more interested in the president’s handicap than taking care of this country.

I just enrolled online…
over the internet and it was easy.

Of course, it was just my company’s annual benefit enrollment, which is secure. And it worked fine.

What’s so hard about this HHS?? Oh, that’s right…it’s gov’t at work.

Off topic, but this is worth sharing, I submit.
I’m the author of this, and I hereby place it in the public domain.
If you’re a recording artist, or you know someone who is, get this out there, please.

“America’s Usurper”
Parody of “The Phony King Of England” (From “Robin Hood”)
(Which was written by Johnny Mercer, believe it or not!)

What the world will know about Barry O
When all is said and done
Was that he sold us snake oil
When he claimed he was The One
While we all find out the hard way that
His health care plan’s a crock
We’ll spend decades paying for
The lies of King Barack
And once we’re done with this epic fail
Once he’s out of power and thrown in jail
They’ll call him America’s usurper
A pox on America’s usurper

He hits the links while the economy sinks
Pretending he’s the Prez
He’s done so much lying, we’re not buying
A single thing he says
Then he pitches a snit, and has a hissy fit
Then he tops it with a rant
When he sticks to his plan, and tries, “Yes we can!”
While the House says, “No, you can’t.”
“You can keep your doc” goes in the history book
Right next to Nixon’s “I am not a crook.”
A pox on America’s usurper
(Lay that country on me, babe!)

While he taxes us to serfdom
And he kills our hopes and dreams
Our freedom rots, while Jarret plots
Still more utopian schemes
Ah! But once America’s had enough,
And hollers with one voice,
Our congresscritters will get the jitters
‘Cause they won’t have a choice
Barack may think he got away with his lies
But the Senate might give him a rude surprise
That lying and Constitution-defying usurper

That audacious, mendacious
Feckless, reckless
Voter-fleecing, lunch-policing
Despotic, idiotic
Unfeeling, self-dealing
Freedom-slaying, golf-playing
Tyrannous, treasonous
Barack Obama, America’s usurper
(Yeah!)

Way to go. I have been wondering why all the old and new muscians have not written anything. When I was growing up in the 60′s there were a great deal of songs that had to do with current events of that time.

Reply

Darkangel November 13, 2013 at 7:50 pm

The thing about current events and popular music these days is this: the country’s so polarized that if you don’t know your audience, you can pretty much kiss half of it goodbye the minute you state your opinion. Look what happened to the Dixie Chicks.

The caveat on that: it was more a case of alienating their format’s target demo. Country tends to attract a more conservative audience, so if you suddenly lose the majority of your target demo by announcing you’re a bleeding-heart, you’ll be unplayable, and that’s going to make it very difficult to stay in the entertainment racket.

In this case, he thinks that he is getting away with the charade.

Whether he cares about our feelings is irrelevant.
