As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Quote of the Day || October 18, 2013

“Of course, all your health information will be electronic. That shouldn’t be a big problem, but just use common sense. Like, if you’re having a kidney removed, make sure your doctor knows which one.”

– HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius

  1. I have an aquaintance who needs both kidneys removed in the next few days…so…this is not clever or funny, but very, very real. Please…please…find the courage to stand for your beliefs, my fellow WHD commenters. For many – this is painfully “real life.”

    • I wish your friend well. Maybe this is the best time to do it. I know you said both kidneys, but under Obamacare in the future I see a lot of wrong kidney, wrong limb removed. Medical care will become mediocre at best.

  2. Obamacare stands ready to donate a sphincter or hemorrhoid transplant
    from its bank of democrat donors. No waiting; at least a thousand ORs are waiting. Nearly all of those were doctors before Obamacare. If you need an abortion, we have a special two for one treatment today.

  4. “Like, if you’re having a kidney removed, make sure your doctor knows which one.”

    Uh, this happened long before this Commie became a senator.

    • Kind of like her boss and all the other baby killing democrat monsters that fight every day to kill another baby and they have succeeded — a whole generation of human beings killed, maybe two generations, millions of babies murdered, what do they care, as long as its not them, how would they like it if they were an abortion? This is for women’s rights? What about the female babies’ rights? They will never care or understand what they do, but God does.

  5. Organ transplants are a very very serious topic! I have worked in clinical research in this area for many years. The very best treatment is in the USA as of today but the ACA will DISMANTLE our superior treatment and outstanding outcomes which means length and quality of life for patients! Wake up people!!!

  6. Keith….love your blog! Read it every day….just had to shout out about how Obamacare will ruin our SUPERIOR transplant programs in the USA!

    • It’s a great point. Advanced care will decline as we’re all homogenized into the lowest cost options. Our health care system has problems, but it wasn’t broken. We’ll miss it when it’s gone.

          • Yes–I used to go to the doctor’s group at Geo Washingtion Univ when I was in DC. Since coming to the boons, my care and experience with physicians has been pitiful! I have so many war stories they would fill a book–and I did write an essay on medical care in the flyovers to counter that know-it-all Atul Gawande, who is always blatting in the New Yorker. I sent it to them, no word yet. Want to bet if they buy it?

  7. I am a little bit late here but I just read, with rising anger, your excellent article about Obama setting out to try to blame the economic problems on the GOP. During the shutdown Obama never intended to compromise and he didn´t compromise, he was willing to do just anything in his Chicago arsenal to get his way. What I find absolutely shocking is that he was willing to risk destroying both US and global economy in a domestic matter. It was the White House that brought the doomsday rhetoric. He could prioritize paying the interests and avoid default, he could declare that intention to the world but he did not do it. He was willing to risk destruction but John Boehner wasn´t. I know that you don´t like him much here but to me he is the unsung hero. He fought as well as he probably could but he wasn´t willing to destroy the US and the world. And now,his Republicans are to get the blame, it´s sickening, revolting. Obama has MSM in his pocket and NSA at his service. He is a very dangerous man and a disaster for the US. I hope that the Republicans will fight him with every mean to avoid him taking over the House too.

    • As grace said yesterday, Boehner went far out of his comfort zone. In the end the Republicans would not cause a default and I don’t blame them.

  8. i am interested in donating my kidney for a reason amount of money,please any interested individual should contact me +234813477945. Thanks

  9. The Obamacare system was also designed in violation of The Privacy act. Any family member or (recent) ex-spouse can change or cancel your heath coverage. The Goverment is also hiring “navigator” contractors without vetting or monitoring them in any way, and the first thing they need is your most sensitive information – SS #, DOB, mother’s maiden name – you can see where this is going…

    Also, the site is run with NO privacy expectation, NO proper encryption of data, and ALL storage is in “the cloud”, set up – again – by unvetted contractors. HUGE opportunities for not only IDENTITY fraud, but also, HEALTH fraud, where someone uses YOUR health info to get care themselves. This can result in YOUR medical history having THEIR information in it, such as diseases, medications, allergies – even blood type. A doctor treating YOU with this faulty info may well kill you. Nice, innit?

    The Weekly Standard has an excellent article on this. Make sure you’re not around breakable objects when you read it, though…

    I kinda like the “Breaking Bad” reference, mostly because it has a character named “Ozymandias”. This, in turn, heartens me because it reminds me of ANOTHER Ozymandias in which the ultimate fate of our “Dear Leader” is writ large, to wit;

    “I met a traveller from an antique land,
    Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
    Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
    Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
    And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
    Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
    Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
    The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
    And on the pedestal, these words appear:
    My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
    Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
    Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
    Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
    The lone and level sands stretch far away.” – Percy Bysshe Shelley

    I think the Bible also nicely covers where Obama is going, but that’s a much larger subject. I’ll just leave you with this…

    “36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

    37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

    38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

    39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.

    40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

    41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

    42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

    43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

    44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

    45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” – Daniel 11, 36-45.

    Kinda interesting how it mentions Egypt and Libya, nicht wahr? Pretty good fit throughout, seems like, and if you look back even FURTHER in Daniel, you will see the LAST Democrat President mentioned as well, but that’s a subject for another time.

    Please note though, that it DOES have a happy ending…
