Senate Approves Debt Deal

The Senate by a vote of 81-19 this evening approved legislation reopening the government and raising the debt limit. The House is expected to vote later this evening and approve the bill as well. House Speaker Boehner supports the measure, though it’s unclear if a majority of Republicans will go along with him.

  1. It is business as usual.
What about the taxpayers? The people for whom we work?
    Screw ’em!
What about them, their children? Grandchildren? Great grandchildren?
    Screw ’em! We got ours!

    • For some reason, I’ve got that old Dire Straits tune floating in my head…”Money for nothing and the chicks for free” – I am sure it’s just a coinky-dink.
