Oh boy. What about compared to a shark attack? Or being struck by lightening during a shark attack?
Anyway, President Obama finally consented to some questions on the terror threat to the nation, answering, as I predicted, to the queries of a comedian, Jay Leno. With predictable results.
From the report of the press pool that covered Obama’s taping of the Tonight Show:
POTUS said the U.S. was not overreacting.
POTUS said people can still take vacation, just do so in a “prudent way” by checking on the State Department Websites for up-to-day information before making plans.
“The odds of dying in a terrorist attack are a lot lower than they are of dying in a car accident, unfortunately.”
Well, not much useful information here so far. There’s another pool report to come, and I will update you if the president says something meaningful, like about the virulence of the threat or the possibility of an attack occurring in the United States – or why it is that al Qaeda is no longer “on the run.”
