“Obama to discuss Gitmo release with Yemeni”

Obama released two Algerian detainees last week to demonstrate his seriousness about closing the prison. But talks will be more complicated with Yemen, whose citizens account for about half of the detainees. Just as Obama was renewing his call to close Gitmo, Hadi was pardoning and releasing a Yemeni journalist with alleged al Qaeda ties who Obama personally lobbied to keep in prison.

I don’t quite know what to make of this.

After the recent, various prison outbreaks in Muslim nations, Zawahiri has announced that there will be one at Gitmo. Is FCMABBHO’s meeting intended to get the Yemenis out of there before an embarassing raid on the compound can happen.

Environmental Protection Agency administrator Gina McCarthy said people should “stop talking about environmental regulations killing jobs,” even as Democratic lawmakers throughout the country have mounted an offensive against EPA rules.

“Can we stop talking about environmental regulations killing jobs, please?” McCarthy said at Harvard Law School Tuesday while defending her agency’s air regulations, according to the Washington Post. “We need to embrace cutting-edge technology as a way to spark business innovation.”

McCarthy should try silencing Democrats before she takes that message to the rest of the country.

I have news for McCarthy: the First Amendment was in place a long time before the EPA was established.

What will she do if Democrats don’t shut up? Punish the energy companies in their districts?

As Ronald Reagan wrote in his diary, the timidity of the RINOs isn’t anything new. History does repeat itself…

“We had rabbits when we needed tigers.”

We could–we should–just change that quote to the present tense and make it our slogan.

Obama Plans Surge of Executive Orders

Even the DEMS are groussing about Obama’s lack of leadership:

….”Iimmigration’s also a perfect example, Democrats say, of the problem with the White House’s approach to Congress. For all Obama’s insistence that he’s interested in trying to find a way through, they’re not getting the behind-the-scenes maneuvering or even centralized strategy that could help make that happen.

“They don’t have a war room. I don’t get what the plan is,” said one House Democrat who met recently with the president, expressing frustration with an approach that’s being seen within the Democratic caucus as hands-off to the point of apathy. “Be the quarterback, tell me the positions, give me the playbook. ‘Here’s how we’re going to score, here’s how we’re going to get a win.’”
