Now how did the scandals slip into a “visionary” speech on America’s economic future?
Maybe part of the reason President Obama wants you to share his vision is that he hopes you won’t look instead at the seamy underside of his administration.
Obama, as you know, is embarking on a series of speeches to get everyone focused on his ideas and agenda. His big government agenda. Only, as the scandals prove, government easily gets out of hand. But pay no attention, please.
Speaking at Knox College today in Galesburg, Illinois, Obama said:
But with this endless parade of distractions and political posturing and phony scandals, Washington has taken its eye off the ball. And I am here to say this needs to stop. (Applause.) This needs to stop.
Sorry Charlie, these scandals are not phony. And if this were President Bush, you’d be all over them with outrage.
