  1. “It’s unbelievable,” Carlson said. “This began when the administration tried to read Fox News out of the White House press pool. You had a politician determining what is and what is not a news organization, and by and large, the press stood still and allowed that to happen.

Not quite, Carlson. From October 2009.

After months of taking incoming fire from the prime-time stars of Fox News, the Obama White House is firing back, charging that FOX News is different from all other news.

“FOX News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican party,” said Anita Dunn, White House communications director.

“All the networks said, that’s it, you’ve crossed the line,” said CBS News White House correspondent Chip Reid.

So why is the White House out to “de-legitimize” FOX? Not because it has opinions, but because its opinion voices are so hostile to Mr. Obama – and because FOX News is, as it has been for a decade, by far the most watched of the cable news networks. In fact, its ratings have increased 13 percent this summer. So if FOX is feeling any pain from the White House’s stance, it’s crying all the way to the bank.

    **************

IIRC, CBS was not the only member of the MFM to raise hell. I have a vague memory of reporters getting up and walking out of some meeting with the administration.

  2. Here we go:

Armed DHS Guards Protect IRS from Tea Party Protestors.

Agency created to protect against terror attacks now policing free speech.

The DHS appears to have finally found a use for all those bullets it’s been buying. At a Tea Party protest outside an IRS building in St. Louis yesterday there were no regular police–only armed Homeland Security Guards.

  3. I’d appreciate the thoughts of the group here but…..Why don’t we demand the suspension of all Senate/House votes on proposed legislation until we get to the bottom of these scandals? One exception: Freeze/delay Obamacare implementation. If nothing else has been proven so far, its that the staff work being done seemingly at ALL levels ranges from incompetent to politically motivated. What “facts” can a Senator or Congressperson depend on when they vote? Apparently none.

If I was dealing with a child (We are!), I’d call this a “TIME OUT!”

    • I’m willing to write my Representative, the only Republican Congressman in Oregon, but it would be a lost cause with Senators Wyden and Merkley.

  4. Well, well, it looks like a story finally has hit too close to home for the MSM. I watched a few minutes of Morning Joe this morning and nobody, not even Mika, was willing to defend Obama over the story of the Fox reporter. It’s shocking that Rosen’s parents were targeted too, but this is to be expected of Obama’s Chicago style thuggery. It will be interesting to see what develops further about the story of Sharyl Attkisson’s work and personal computers being compromised.

    • If the administration is at ease with spying on members of the press, on both their work and personal devices, I’m sue they’re even mroe at ease doing it to regular citizens.

    • “I have been, as I said, pursuing an issue for a long time now — longer than you’ve been hearing about this in the news with some compromising of my computer systems in my house, my personal computer systems as well as my work computer system,” Attkisson said. “So we’re digging into that and just not ready to say too much more right now, but I am concerned.”

Attkisson said she had been able to ascertain that “a particular thing had happened” as far back as February 2011, but she suspected the issue dated back before that.

Politico’s Dylan Byers followed up with Attkisson following her appearance on “The Chris Stigall Show,” and she confirmed her previous statement.

“I can confirm that an intrusion of my computers has been under some investigation on my end for some months but I’m not prepared to make an allegation against a specific entity today as I’ve been patient and methodical about this matter,” Attkisson said. “I need to check with my attorney and CBS to get their recommendations on info we make public.”

Contrast that with how quickly the administration came out with a pack of lies after the attacks on our consulate.

  5. Here’s a great explanation about the IRS office in Ohio that allegedly was home of those “two Rogue employees” which really were six employees, each with a different manager and different territory manager. The article explains the process of an application and how unapproved applications generate red flags each month that have to be addressed. And it tells you whose desk receives the grand total of all those monthly flags…

    • I don’t understand why the investigating committees don’t glom right on these scapegoats right away. Greta Van Susteren and Ann Coulter, both lawyers, say that’s how you build a case. The lowest rung points to the ones above who gave the order and so on and so on up the chain. But the Congress always wants to make a big splash starting at the top, and these people will say nothing and, more importantly, no one will incriminate them.

  6. While our attention is focused on the scandals of this corrupt regime, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed the amnesty bill by a vote of 13-5 last night. On passage of the bill the audience broke out in cheers of “yes we can” and “si se puede”. Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan must be so proud of themselves for forfeiting our national sovereignty under the cover of law. All ten democrats voted yes, and were joined by three turncoat republicans – Hatch, Graham, and Flake. The five patriots who voted no – Grassley, Sessions, Lee, Cruz, and Cornyn.

One of the few amendments that was allowed by the committee is to grant immediate tax (IRS earned income credit) and welfare benefits to the illegals who come forward. If this travesty becomes law, we won’t have to worry about taking our country back, because there will be nothing left of it.

        • The AZ Republic had a gigantic story Sunday on how a guy’s family was back in Mexico and how he had to commute all the time and how tired he was. Today’s news was about how Jodi Arias would sell her hair for cancer wigs and start a book club in prison if they would just let her live. I wonder about the news business…if we can even call it that.

          • Book club eh? “How to Dismember a Boyfriend the Easy Way!”……”Trade your death sentence for cancer wigs! A How To”…..ugh

          • Also we need to keep an eye on the Boston thing–the FBI shot one of Tamerlan’s pals being questioned…he’s dead. And the kid bro has yet to be indicted.

          • Not to mention the AZ Republic reported another big story today about Samy, of Amy’s Baking Co, (of Kitchen Nightmares fame) facing possible deportation and about their re-grand opening last night.

As for the illegal immigrant story Sun, Mon and Tues, it did not garner any sympathy from our household. The woman said she came to America with the intent to steal someone’s ID and work, which is exactly what she did.

  7. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard
to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance.
I must say you have done a awesome job with this.
In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Safari.
    Outstanding Blog!
