  1. Darn, missed the briefing again. I was watching the paint dry on the patio furniture. Did Carney happen to mention the 100th birthday of the federal income tax? Allen West didn’t forget with his Facebook posting…

“Happy anniversary America! You didn’t know? Today (in the month designated by President Obama as National Financial Capability Month) is the 100th anniversary of the federal income tax, enacted by the 16th Amendment. In 1913, the top marginal tax rate was 7%. Today, under Obama it’s 39.6%. Funny thing — with all the rhetoric about fair share, economic equality, and shared sacrifice, his effective tax rate was only 18.4%. Guess the President and First Lady kinda like those exemptions they say are so bad. Well, what can you say? I also find it funny that one of the earliest proponents of a heavy progressive or graduated income tax was…drumroll… Karl Heinrich Marx! This is why we need to learn history, or as George Santayana said we’re doomed to repeat it.”

  2. THEN:
“If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon”

    NOW:
    Kermit Gosnell trial….

“The president does not and cannot take a position on an ongoing trial, so I won’t as well,” Carney told reporters.
