A few political pundits been asking “is PresObama relevant anymore” and after a fast look at the internet MSM, cable news sites, and opinion makers, the answer is No. His trip to the MiddleEast is getting little or no notice.
If anything, it’s generating a big USA yawn.
Am sure once AF1 goes wheels up and BO is on his way back the foreign press will begin to crank out a total assessment of this zzzz of a trip. MSM and Blarney will give it a huge “thumbs up”. He will arrive home in time to sleep in for a day then flip a coin on the Big Egg Hunt (Yes or No). Meanwhile MO has completed the research for her next trip.
Maybe SOS will have picked up a dozen ties in his favorite color before leaving.

Srdem65, good question. Is he relevant anymore ? Today newly elected Chinese leader Xi Jinping meets with Putin. It´s Xi´s first trip abroad and it is considered of great importance, politically and economically. Will this be the new powerful world axis ? Otherwise, the news over here are all about Cyprus and the serious situation in the Eurozone. Will there be a Cyprus exit ? That would be good in the long run but a big crisis in the short run.
When I browsed the TV news yesterday I noticed a skeptical tone about the Obama tour. When showing the applauding Jewish students the journalist actually reported that this was a selected audience and that the speech would not get such a response in the Knesset. Euronews showed Palestinians burning a straw doll with Obamaface and many aggressive demonstrations. So, to sum it up, a big yawn. I think that media over here finally realizes that O is a guy who talks and talks and talks. Not a serious player. More like a celebrity comes to town.
Swedishlady – thanks for bringing perspective from the other side of the world. It’s simply impossible to get global news here in the US. I have to watch France 24 for news (through their Left lens) at times but a tad better than watching RT (Russian TV) who not only is Left, but takes the time to beat the hell out of the US with every report. When I really get “itchy” for news – I go to the site linked below, choose a country and hope that they have an English online edition.
